Beyond Zero aims to accelerate policy, increase resource allocation and uptake of services, for better health outcomes for mothers and children in Kenya.
Happy Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026.
Period poverty remains a major barrier for many adolescent girls, contributing to school absenteeism, stigma, and reduced confidence.
Through our Menstrual Hygiene Empowerment Project, we have provided dignity packs and delivered menstrual health education to students to help keep girls in school and promote dignity, confidence, and healthy futures.
Access to safe menstrual products is not a privilege. It is a right.

Implementing Convention 190 could minimise workplace violence
Workplace violence affects more than half of women and ~30% of men globally. ILO Convention 190 could change that — and Kenya is moving toward ratification.

Every woman deserves safe motherhood, dignity, and access to quality healthcare. Today, the Beyond Zero Initiative joined partners in marking the International Day to End Obstetric Fistula (IDEOF) at @KNH_hospital, where women benefitted from free screening and corrective surgeries aimed at restoring health, confidence, and hope.
Through powerful survivor testimonies and renewed calls for timely maternal care, stakeholders emphasized that obstetric fistula is preventable and no woman should suffer childbirth injuries due to delayed medical attention.
Together with partners including M-PESA Foundation, UNFPA, Amref Health Africa, Jhpiego and SAWFF and others, we continue to champion maternal health and the rights of women and girls. Join the conversation and support efforts to end obstetric fistula and protect women’s dignity.

We honor mothers and mother figures whose compassion, strength, support and dedication continue to nurture communities and shape generations.

Getting ready for a vaccination can come with big feelings.
Children are curious by nature so taking the time to prepare them, and yourself, before vaccination can make a big difference.
Here are some tips on how you can support them.
@WHO
More children now live to celebrate their first birthday and then go on to learn, work, raise families and grow old — than at any other time in history.
Your decision makes a difference. #VaccinesWork
Repost from @WHO
Early detection remains critical in the fight against cancer, enabling timely treatment and significantly improving survival outcomes. Today marked the successful completion of a two-day free breast and cervical cancer screening and awareness outreach by the Beyond Zero Initiative in partnership with the Embu County Health Department at Rukuriri Dispensary and Rukuriri Primary School in Embu County.
The strong turnout reflected a growing awareness and willingness among young girls and women to take charge of their health through preventive care.
The outreach aligns with Kenya’s national goal of eliminating cervical cancer by 2030, as outlined in the Cervical Cancer Elimination Action Plan (2025–2030), and complements the broader aspirations of Kenya Vision 2030 and the World Health Organization’s 90-70-90 elimination targets.

Beyond Zero, in partnership with the Embu County Government, is bringing free breast and cervical cancer screening closer to residents of Ugweri and surrounding areas.
Take the step. Get screened. Make it part of how you show up for yourself.
