Lots of misinformation I’m seeing on X regarding the peptide meeting today and what the recommendations actually mean.
Today’s PCAC votes (so far favorable for BPC-157 and KPV!) are advisory only.
A “yes” recommendation does not immediately allow compounding. The FDA still has to decide and complete formal rulemaking.
If the agency ultimately adds these peptides to the 503A Bulks List, licensed 503A pharmacies could compound them for patients under a valid prescription, with standard quality and sterility requirements.
Until that process finishes, nothing changes in current compounding restrictions.
The recommendations are a step toward a regulated pathway, not a green light (yet).
