Terra #OpenScience Contest -- You be the judge! Over the past month we ran a contest in which four teams created workspaces showcasing reproducible analyses: https://t.co/h5yzqCkhIJ
Heads up all: Google Cloud Platform is experiencing several service issues. https://t.co/fXWYfUITra is also impacted by this. Mitigation work is underway. You can find the status here: https://t.co/twMRYFAjAt
Also available on @BroadFireCloud where it was leveraged to process all of the RNA-Seq data from TCGA and GTEx through STAR-fusion. Took advantage of the @theNCI cloud credits program.
Do you have a pet workflow or a favorite notebook? Have you thought about sharing them with the world, but keep pushing it off? Here is your opportunity to do just that! To learn how, check out https://t.co/h5yzqCBSAh
Great meeting this week with #NCICloud and Data Commons Framework teams discussing cancer research priorities for #NCICommons. Thanks @ISBUSA for hosting! @isb_cgc@BroadFireCloud@TerraBioApp @UChicagoCTDS @SBGenomics @NCIDataSci
@VdaGeraldine @arunsethuraman @fdmts@hyphaltip@evomics@ctitusbrown@chris_dag@TerraBioApp Most popular is https://t.co/KPmr28hRm3 showcasing Broad’s prod pipeline for WGS germline short variant analysis. From unmapped reads to per sample GVCF (or VCF) incl QC, called $5 genome pipeline bc that’s what it costs to run on GCP. (Data eng team working on making it $3)
Starting today we are in open beta -- anyone can sign up to kick the tires! Read the overview at https://t.co/Dazw0YmZ4m or jump right in by checking out the showcase at https://t.co/ayoTAZ7dYZ
@geoffjentry@AlbertVilella@dnanexus@illumina You can request early access to Terra at https://t.co/TRcOdgZNAT or swing by after May 1st when FireCloud becomes powered by Terra (at that point Terra will go into open beta)
If you missed it, Junko will be back at the Broad booth 3048 Monday at 9am — swing by for a FireCloud demo or to hear more about our upcoming upgrade to being powered by https://t.co/dRdKAUkoaD #AACR19
Heads up if you use the TARGET and/or TCGA data workspaces: the file paths to TARGET and TCGA data are going to change from gs:// to dos:// paths in accordance with Genomic Data Commons shift to location-agnostic URLs. https://t.co/IqyguVMu44
To @harvardmed researchers and friends: Come meet https://t.co/Fn1HB3gWD7, the platform that powers FireCloud and much more, at the Dept of Immunology bioinformatics seminar; Thursday 12:15-1:15 in NRB 1031; presented by @VdaGeraldine from @broadinstitute
@egrieco Feel free to suggest additional improvements in the forum; as a bonus our support team will help you figure out how to do what you want and get you going.
@egrieco Not currently, but we’re in the process of rewriting docs and tutorials for Terra, and taking the opportunity to evaluate what’s working and what’s not. So we’ll definitely pass on your feedback for our documentation team, thanks!
@joanneberghout@dbernick@gatk_dev You’re welcome! Let us know if there’s anything we can do to help — and be sure to check out our improved interface, Terra. If you already have a FC account you should have received an invitation email to the early-access program. If not, just send us a DM and we’ll hook you up.
@gatk_dev@joanneberghout Right, many of our users work on human data under research consents. It depends what the consent protocol specifies wrt data access and security. The platform meets FISMA moderate compliance and the permissions system allows you to control exactly who can have access to the data.
