This sounded amazing this afternoon - what a glorious way to end the week, with so many talented and committed musicians filling the old hall with such wonderful music. Can I have this as the soundtrack to my end-of-Friday office work every week?
A teaser of what you will hear on Tuesday 14th December at the Winter Concert. Fantastic to hear the orchestra rehearsing in the study hall or the old concert hall as some will remember… #concert#rehearsal
Mr Watling, the witty art teacher who taught at the school from 1910 to 1949 and, after returning from the war, designed the very memorial for those from CNS who fought in WW1, and that today was the focus of our reflections.
This was such a powerful moment today - the collective reflection in the Study Hall. And then this afternoon to talk with Yr9 who are currently studying the history of the school. Today we learnt about three teachers and their experiences of WW1:
Mr Sainty, the Geology and Geography teacher who started at the school on the day it opened in 1910. Mr Tate, the Science teacher who lived near Unthank Road and was killed in action in 1917.
@amy_rose2190@Team_English1@DavidDidau@__codexterous Hi Amy - @EnglishatCns have some strong work on this, with different approaches in Yr10 to Yr11. Really rich and working well - drop us an email or direct message.
@EnglishatCns Hearing form tutors really captivating our students as they read Adrian Mole and The Outsiders has been the highlight of each morning for me this term. Such wonderful stories to share, discuss and enjoy.
Looking forward to welcoming @DavidDidau and @CWoozley to CNS tomorrow to meet our wonderful students and English team and to talk about the joys of reading and English curriculum.
Today was the final session of a really enjoyable 6 month programme of mentor training across @OrmistonAcads - 70+ mentors coming together every month to develop mentoring toolkit. It's been great to see the quality of mentoring and dedication to PD across the Trust.
@EHiggins138@Emma_Turner75@MrTs_NQTs This is interesting and I can see a number of schools taking this approach. Hope it all goes well - lots to prep, but exciting shift.
