@miiiamor7 Absolutely. Happiness is so subjective and isn't universal. Ted Bundy found pleasure and happiness from raping and murdering more than 30 women. I sure wouldn't call his form of happiness moral. #I2E21
@student_ethics@KayliReynolds24 I agree, however, if we had never known free will we wouldn't even know what we are missing. There would be no reason for us to strive for those deeper connections because I don't think we would really value them as important. #I2E21
@Nicholas_Smith6 @juliejacobs07 I agree that testing on animals can be awful, but when it comes to medical research do you still think it's unjustifiable? If we had what we thought was the cure for cancer, but didn't know if it was safe for humans yet, would you still be against animal testing? #I2E21
@ScottUB21@JorgeEd36973635 Half the time I just sit here talking to myself saying "everyone has flaws, it's fine, completely fine. Yeah... I'm a terrible person" #I2E21
@ScottUB21 @nangelinee But he also continued to sing and dance while there were obvious emergency vehicles arriving on the ground. Honestly, I can't imagine that he didn't have some idea of what was going on when people were yelling at him to stop the concert. #I2E21
@EvelynBenz9@SohamSh16719003 @landonroz2 The really sad thing about it too is that especially in war, children have become tools for some countries to use in order to further their agenda. #I2E21
@zachI2E21@macebethinking@KelzPag The thing about truly moral politicians is that everyone's morality is different, so its concept is kind of abstract. They may think their decisions are for the greater good while the population they govern may not agree. #I2E21
@JorgeEd36973635 It's viewed that way because of the Hippocratic Oath stating that "I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan." Because of this, it's seen as harmful. It's also illegal. #I2E21
@maxbeneshh@school__mouse I think that the example wasn't really a good basis for Peter Singers' argument as any sane person would try and save a drowning child, but that's a completely different thing than giving all of your stuff away. #I2E21
@nessyyxx @livwasnock The poor, or really anyone not in the upper 10%, are the backbone of society. And the reason most people work so hard is to achieve a point in their lives where they don't have to anymore. Without the poor, who would work the jobs the rich don't want to? #I2E21
@maxbeneshh@DanyalHasan2011@SohamSh16719003 I think the main flaw in his argument is that he's basically telling people to give until they themselves are in poverty, which would just be an endless cycle. No one deserves poverty, but I can't help if I'm also impoverished. #I2E21
@JCethicsaccount In reply to your #3, my question back to you would be that historically we have treated humans worse than animals based on race or religion. The holocaust experiments is 1 example. How do we justify what is and isnโt okay to test on humans rather than animals? #I2e21
@EthicsBabyy The idea of โgodโ originates back thousands of years. Civilizations create a being or beings that help to explain things they cannot understand or explain. I think the idea of God is simply one civilizations interpretation of that. #I2E21
@ProfessorDEG This may be a stupid question, but does Divine Command Theory relate with other religions besides Christianity? Weโve talked a lot about it, but it seems like itโs always correlated with Christianity and no other religions. #I2E21
@SohamSh16719003 @MattCEthics Which always made me question how great can he really be if he asks me to break his commandments so that he can test whether Iโd follow him blindly just because of his position in my religion. #I2E21
@MattCEthics I think that in terms of evolution everything has a purpose because if it didnโt it would have been eliminated from the gene pool, but in terms of God or something making everything with a purpose I donโt think thatโs true either. #I2E21
