Brother Amin Abdullah was the security guard who was martyred at the Islamic Center of San Diego. He gave his life to protect the lives of countless students and congregants.

One of his last Facebook posts said:

#MeteorSighting: A very bright daylight fireball was observed by witnesses from the northeast U.S. and Canada this morning, March 17. An analysis of currently available data places first visibility of the meteor above Lake Erie. The fireball - caused by a small asteroid nearly 6 feet in diameter and weighing about 7 tons - moved southeast at 45,000 mph before fragmenting over Valley City. The fragments continued on to the south, producing meteorites in the vicinity of Medina County, Ohio.

Crescentwatch has received reliable reports of the new crescent moon (hilal) being sighted on Tuesday evening (May 27th) by experienced moonsighters (via naked-eye) in multiple locations in North America, including Florida, New York, Maryland, Texas, Arizona, and California.

This marks the end of the month of Dhu al-Qidah and the beginning of the sacred month of Dhu al-Hijjah, with its first 'day' commencing on Wednesday, May 28th. The day of Eid al-Adha (the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah) will therefore be on Friday, June 6th, insha'Allah.
