As a former Mormon; this is probably not as effective as you think. Mormons believe that it is the same gospel and not a different gospel. They call it a “restoration” because they believe that the original teachings were tainted over the millennia by translation errors, the council of Nicaea, and the further confounded by generations of differing opinions of what the Bible says.

Furthermore, that passage was written before many of the books in the New Testament so it can’t apply to everything that came afterward.

If you really want to Mormon-pill people you can lead them to the Mormon church’s own website documenting the “Joseph Smith Papers”. They’ve been much more transparent over the last few decades because knowledge is now free and abundant on the internet. It’s probably the single greatest tool for helping Mormons and potential converts understand that Joseph Smith had more in common with L Ron Hubbard than Moses.
