@JowiPozoX Diversification is a myth & the #1 reason investors underperform. Outperformance comes from concentrated bets when confidence & research ability are high. There’s a saying on Wall Street that bulls & bears make money & pigs get slaughtered. Be the pig if you want to outperform.
The K-shaped economy is causing consumer fatigue & wallet pressure across apparel (LULU), home improvement (HD) & fast food (MCD). What works in this environment? Off-Price (TJX). Household (PG).Grocery (KR). Utilities (DUK). Healthcare (LLY, UNH). Insurance (CB). Energy (XOM).
@orrdavid His returns weren’t normal either. What’s great about normal? Howard is now the non-executive Chairman in charge of keeping the values and culture of Berkshire intact.
@leevalueroach You didn’t read the press release. Howard Buffet will serve as the non-executive Chairman protecting the values of the company. CEO Greg Abel will be running the company. Howard has been on the board of Berkshire since 1993 and has an extensice background in business.
@Mindset4Money_X Interest rates act like a fulcrum. Picture a see-saw. As rates go up the multiple for long duration assets like the 30 year & growth stocks come down. This reset has already begun for fixed income & beginning to impact the S&P 500 multiple having come from 22 to 20. 18 is next.
@DudeWhoInvests Recency bias for anyone saying NKE will be the worst stock to own over the next 10 years. More likely NIKE will fix the wholesale partner relationships, get back to splitting the biz into sports verticals vs gender & more likely the 1.3 Billion in China come back to the brand.
@BrianRoemmele I worked at Morgan Stanley from ‘89 to’03 at Times Square. Rick Rescorla became a touchstone figure within the firm as our hero on 9/11. Whenever the date comes around each year he’s the first person I think of.
@CathieDWood Low hire-low fire environment with wage inflation at very low levels. The economy is strong. Earning are strong. Valuations are elevated. Stock pickers market from here.
@ARKInvest@CathieDWood Corporate equities are currently 238% of GDP. 70% to 90% is the buy zone. 100% is fair value & anything above 140% is considered elevated. Corporate equities as a % of GDP are higher than 1987, 2000 and 2008. Let’s hope the AI Capex returns bear fruit before the tide goes out.
@EdgeCGroup TGT is up 63% YTD. LULU is down 60% YTD. Anhueser Busch is up 24% YTD. Nike down almost 40% YTD. Different companies, different lessons. NKE abandoned a reliable dealer network. TGT got the mix wrong. Bud Lite lost the number one spot to Modelo STZ. LULU hit market saturation.
@cmsinvests Funny things can happen to stocks trading for a few quarters and a few penny’s in the short run. A takeover rumor. A sale of IP announcement. A buyer of note. Sometimes price comes first followed by news. Zoom out. That will tell you the fundamental picture.
