Good to see Indian Forces giving Chinese PLA befitting reply at the border. While we trade with China it must not be lost on the CCP that India will respond to any aggression on its borders. A clash with America in Trade & Economics does not mean we are going to go soft on China.
Also we must understand that as India rises you will see both China & America aim to scuttle India’s growth and rise. And thus we must remain vigilant both internally and externally as there many useful idiots waiting to connive with foreign actors hoping to do regime change in India.
In May, India made silver importers queue up for a government permit.
The aim was simple: fewer dollars leaving the country while the rupee was under pressure.
This week, the permits came out. About 6,000 tonnes, valid for six months.
That is close to everything India imported in all of 2025 (about 7,158 tonnes), in half the time.
The rule hasn't changed. Its bite has.
Why now? Silver has fallen from a record of about $121 an ounce in January to about $56.
Each ounce now costs India less than half the dollars it did.
Tight when silver was expensive. Open once the price had done the work.
The extra that Indian buyers paid for scarce silver has dropped from about $2 an ounce to about 50 cents. That money stops going to whoever held the scarce metal and goes back to the buyer.
And the 15% import duty stays.
A quota only bites when it's smaller than demand.
Is this "permit on paper, open door in practice" model the smarter way to guard the rupee, or should gold be next?
"They eat no flesh, and drink no wine, and live a life of great chastity"
Marco Polo on Brahmins, late 1200s CE
“They never drink wine except at sacrifices.”
Megasthenes, 300 BCE.
Something changed. We went from meat-eating moderate drinkers to pure veg teetotalers.
India will become a great economy and a mediocre index at the same time. At about $4 trillion, the state can finally fund factories, roads and a floor under household incomes all at once, which makes the government the economy's largest buyer of first resort. But the forces that make the economy strong, cheap capital, state money and new entrants, are the same forces that compete profits away. Growth will flow through the country, not into its earnings. The money will be made at specific nodes of the value chain, not in the index.
We have gone from a world where economic downside was a part of life and even directly confronted when necessary (Volcker, Keating etc)
To one where it is avoided like the plague, even if it means blowing hundreds of billions for little good long term reason.
This is part of the origin of Burnout Economics.
The theory that economic downside is now so politically unacceptable that govt will gladly keep their foot planted on the accelerator while central banks slam their foot on the brakes.
The problem is economic downside is never fully avoided, only deferred.
And that is where Australia is now.
A nation where housing market reckonings have been avoided again and again for almost two decades.
Where in the process of avoiding that downside growth in the per capita private sector economy is more or less non-existent in the post-mining boom era.
Now those same policymakers are trapped in a world of their own making, where there are no more good options, only less bad ones.
Welcome to late stage Burnout Economics, where things get challenging until the cycle starts all over again.
Consolidation lows in a secular bull market comes with some of the worst sentiment. The herd will not be convinced the bull will return, the banks will downgrade their forecasts, analysts will be calling for the end of this bull market.
We are essentially at this point. Gold and silver can easily market their lows at any moment here and 99% of investors will not see or believe it.
But they will happily buy at much higher prices once the psychology-sentiment favors the safety of herd mentality.
If Iran did not damage Qatar's LNG facilities that much, and if Hormuz energy flows are back to normal...
...why is this happening?
Physical reality is suggesting someone is lying.
Common sense: The Earth has 6 billion T of gold reserves, of which 5.9 billion T are located in the Earth's core. It locates 5K km+ deep, and its temperature is about 6K °c. All alchemy is a scam! Only the gold mined from the core is real! Can you get it?!
Forging Steel
This is a 300 ton forged ring passing through Japan Steel Works Ltd. This facility has 80% market share for nuclear reactor pressure vessels (RPV).
Their order book is full.
They have mastered…
• controlled melting
• vacuum degassing
• superheated liquid handling
• giant bar casting
• electric preheating
• hydraulic forge pressing
• hot punching
• open die mandrel pressing
• dewarping
• ring rolling
• electric pit heating
• quenching
• tempering
• machining
• NDT testing of sample prolongations
They do this with pieces of steel that are 540 tons, for most of the steps the steel is 1,600°F.
The scale of the equipment you need to handle something like this is pure sci fi. The number of steps in the process is no joke.
You make 1 mistake along the way and the whole thing is often scrapped and has to be remade.
You have to keep all of this equipment calibrated, even as it goes through brutal thermal cycles and takes weeks to cool down.
This is why giant forging is so hard.
But it’s doable, people do it. A big part of what makes this expensive is that everything is made-to-order and the orders are all bespoke.
This means retooling for every run, which means recalibrating, which means you often don’t get it right first time, which means there is a lot of losses and reruns…
Which means lead times are long.
That plus the order book is full.
This process is deeply esoteric, but it is also ripe for innovation.
It is big, it is heavy… but JSW can turn $3m of steel into a $200m component. And they have 80% market share.
Suddenly the world needs infrastructure and this is the global bottleneck for an awful lot of it.
Adani Group has reportedly proposed a $2.2 billion integrated titanium industrial park in Andhra Pradesh.
Planned annual capacity:
• 200,000 tonnes of titanium dioxide (TiO₂)
• 30,000 tonnes of titanium metal
With China accounting for over 80% of India’s TiO₂ imports, this could be a significant step towards import substitution and building a domestic titanium ecosystem.
US consumers owe ~$19T in consumer debt.
If AI disintermediates jobs as advertised/feared, every 5% of that ~$19T in consumer debt that defaults is ~40% of the total equity capital of the US banking system (~$2.6T).
That’s a problem.
#BREAKING: US Embassy staff and families have been ordered to leave Saudi Arabia, with families of embassy staff in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Qatar and Bahrain also ordered to leave.
Trump has already decided to go back to war with Iran. He just wants to wait until after the midterms.
The reason is sinister. He knows another round of bombing means another jump at the pump. Gas has been stuck around $4 a gallon, American families have already paid billions more for fuel since this war began, and most voters don't like how he's handled it. So he has done the math. Start the bombing in October and Republicans lose seats. Start it in November and the only people who lose are the ones who just voted.
Think about what that means. He isn't holding back because he has doubts about this war. He's holding back because he knows exactly what it will cost Americans, and he'd rather they find out once their votes are safely in.
That is how he thinks of voters. They matter for one day. After that, what they pay for gas, what's left of their paycheck, and what happens to their savings is their own problem. His vice president once called cheap fuel the administration's top goal. Nobody mentioned it came with an expiry date.
He also said he didn't care about the midterms. Yet here he is, timing a war around them.
So who is this war for? Certainly not the people who voted for a man who swore he would end the endless wars and clean the lobbyists and foreign influence out of Washington. It's for Netanyahu, who has been pushing for it for thirty years and has finally found a president willing to do his dirty work.
The smartest money sold Silver at $67 and Gold at $4,400.
Not because the bull market is over, but because even the greatest bull markets need to breathe.
The next raging bull run in precious metals is coming.
Just not yet. 🐂

The Turkish DNA debate has become an international meme, with Chinese content creators now joining in.
But this didn’t emerge from a vacuum.
For decades, Turkish nationalism has promoted narratives of racial purity and ethnic homogeneity.
Modern genetics is exposing the weakness of those narratives—and that is precisely why DNA has become so uncomfortable for nationalists invested in them..

The Chinese attack on Turks on X has been incredible. Not for the sheer volume alone, but for the wit, and a few other aspects that left an impression.
They identified the layers of nation-building propaganda, peeled them away, and mentally challenged them to their very soul.
Most could only respond with swearing and sexual innuendos to rebuild pride.
This was a lesson in itself.
A nation of smart people needs a mythology based on truths. Chasing pride won’t last under pressure.
This applies to Europeans. We can’t build a lasting identity with euromaxing, DEI, welfare, and nostalgia for the good old days.
The Chinese are more grounded than I thought about who they are and their situation.
Some didn’t see themselves as better, but as constantly battling daily life, and being baffled with idiocy as they said.
We all do daily life activities, but the intent differs. They likely live better than most yet believe they still believe they have more to do.
I admire that: not settling, hard-work mode. It’s why America succeeded—it rewarded hard work with profit and status.
Hard work, narrative based on truths as much as possible, and high wit.
All easy to integrate to Europe as the people already value these. We just have to slightly shift from the current tyranny of the minorities to a “majority = priority”.
