@JRubinBlogger We are daily aghast at the criminals in the palace. Outrage abounds. Then we check FB, pull up Pinterest for a one dish meal, can't find one, text the menu of that new Thai place
that popped up on UberEats to our other, then... check Twitter. Get angry again. Sleep again

Dear Joe,
I wish I could sit down with you face to face and explain why so many of us were offended by the UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House.
For me, it had nothing to do with the UFC or who showed up for the fights. The brand you and Dana have built is a bona fide American success story. More power to you. As for the fighters, in my book, anyone brave enough to put it all on the line in the arena is remarkable to witness. Their dedication and discipline inspire me. I don’t understand anyone who can’t admire that.
And as for the people who attended, I, for one, love Shane Gillis. I think he’s hilarious and brilliant. It was a show. A once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. I can’t blame anyone for wanting to witness it firsthand.
My problem is that I believe some of our public spaces are sacred. And unlike many of the great powers that came before us, these American monuments belong to all of us. Not to whoever happens to hold power at the moment.
The White House does not belong to Donald Trump. It does not belong to any President. It belongs to the people. To treat it as Caesar treated the Colosseum is antithetical to everything our founding fathers fought for.
This is not Rome. Presidents are not emperors doling out bread and circuses for the peasants. The White House is the People’s House. This “celebration” could have happened in any stadium within a stone’s throw of the South Lawn. No one would have had an issue with it.
But that was obviously Donald Trump’s whole point. By holding the event on the South Lawn, what he was saying to the rest of us is:
“This is my house. I own it. I will do with it what I please. I’ll build a colosseum and have the gladiators fight under my gaze. I’ll tear down the East Wing. I’ll pave over the Rose Garden. I’ll cover everything in gold and marble. I’ll erase the names of all the men who came before me.”
The fights were an exhibition of imperial domination, not a celebration of our 250th anniversary as a democracy.
The White House is not Buckingham Palace. It is not the Palace of Versailles. It is not the Forbidden City of Beijing. It does not belong to an emperor, or a king, or a commissar.
The White House belongs to us. All of us. The person who sits behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office is nothing more than an honored guest. A temporary caretaker.
The President is our servant. Not our Caesar.
Respectfully, Hunter
P.S. Cage match between me and Don Jr.? Your call on the venue. Anywhere but the South Lawn.
Sean's team declined/failed to comment for this story for a full day, both before and after publication. Then they posted this publicly today.
Our story reports that:
1) UFC has long been popular with U.S. troops
2) There's an organized effort to find troops interested in attending
3) Troops must pay for their own travel, according to several messages from obtained by the Post
4) There are height and weight restrictions on troops attending.
All of that is true and accurate.
Have a good one.
@UniversalORL Actually, the UAP website was not populating the guest to drop down where her name always appears. And even in the heavy winds use patient enough and with a great attitude, to get both of our tickets for 2 days at epic taking care of it with a little humor in between. Retain him!

Chris who works with passholders like me who have conditions and issues with the website for passholders. Could be because I'm old, it could be because the website need some changes. But, you went above and beyond for our epic tickets!
@UniversalORL She worked in the tribute store and was incredibly helpful and informative. She also helped us sort out which things to send back to the hotel which ones to keep and helped us find some merch that we had no luck finding ourselves! Very friendly courteous just nice young TM.
I just exercised my right as a Member of Congress to conduct an unannounced oversight visit of the ICE field facility in Baltimore. The staff I met with respected my right to visit, but what I saw was disgraceful. Kristi Noem has a budget of $75 billion she could use to ensure humane conditions, but we saw 60 men packed into a room shoulder-to-shoulder, 24-hours-a-day, with a single toilet in the room and no shower facilities. They sleep like sardines with aluminum foil blankets. Whether it’s for three days or seven days, nobody would want a member of their family warehoused there. The room set aside for dangerous criminals and violent offenders was empty. We’re demanding immediate answers and action.
If a major leap in Iran’s WMD program was imminent, I’d support action.
But if this were the case, Trump would’ve presented evidence and easily secured congressional support from a lapdog congress that would let him bomb Indiana.
His refusal leaves me skeptical proof exists.
A prediction: assuming we get through this period as a functioning democracy, there will be the first treason trials in America since 1949.
Trump is giving functional foreign agents access to America’s security.
I’m here to tell you that even though some have forgotten … I remember.
I remember what it was like when Trump was president.
I remember what he did and said, about Puerto Rico…
About our people ...
I remember after Hurricane Maria devastated our island…
Trump blocked billions in relief … while thousands died.
I remember that when our families lacked clean water and electricity,
Trump threw paper towels and called Puerto Rico “dirty” and “poor.”
But I was not surprised..
Because I ALSO remember… he launched his campaign by calling Latinos criminals and rapists.
He’s told us what he’ll do.
He'll separate children from their families and threatened to use the ARMY to do it
This election goes way beyond political parties.
Now let’s remember what the United States represents and stands for. It’s our name - United.
Regardless of where we’re from.
I’m Marc Anthony…
I remember…
And that’s why I support Kamala Harris for President
