You can train in a sports specific manner while doing things that don't look like the sport - if impact levels, velocities, power outputs, tissue loads, are competition-like, it's sports specific. If sportlike training movements don't achieve this, you're not prepared.
@Ginger_Guns@mboyle1959 Rehab is key
A 9 month return with a bad rehab is not set up for success
You’re better off with a 7 month return with a great rehab
We are honoured to have @BooSchex present at the Sportsmith Speed Conference at Pitt on 1-2 June.

Cool study detailing joint kinetics and moments with respect to different foot strikes.
I’ve always found that slower running is ☠️ for ACL-R early on, especially in patella grafts.
It’s why I favour a
FAST ➡️ FIT approach in RTR.
Curious to hear other coaches views?
@Elevate_Rehab_ @timkettenring Competence of implementation is required.
It’s easier to just “jog” & acquire total yards because there’s no coaching involved. A plug & chug method as it were.
Fast to fit requires conceptual knowledge and understanding of the kinematics/kinetics being chased.

@jb_morin@SportsmithHQ What are some of your more “localized” training modalities and progressions for limbo pelvic control?
I’m aware you have posted some in the past. Have they changed? Have you found some to facilitate transfer better than others? Etc.
Hamstring inj. are common in team sport athletes freq. exposed to ⬆️ velocity running.
@jb_morin , Jurdan Mendiguchia, & @TomDosSantos91 put together a paper on factors relating to ⬆️ risk of hamstring strains.
HSI can be assessed as applied strain or strain capacity.
Also helpful to know that we consider “heavy resisted running” specific strength training. Keep the resisted loads light in speed sessions to nudge technical factors and minimize technical interference and put heavy loaded sprinting in gym sessions to ⬆️ force w/ coordination
