@conor64 Conor, given the context that real families are struggling to provide groceries for their families (because, for one reason or another, the current system has seen a huge increase in food prices), do you want this plan to work? Why or why not?
@moseskagan That our system is contingent on force? That’s just objective reality. It’s cliche, but it’s built on stolen land + slave labor + the pillaging of the Philippines, China, Haiti, South America, the Middle East, etc. Maintained by the same force. Which part do you disagree with?
There is though. Our system is contingent on the same force that we ascribe to “the communists.” It’s just pointed at poor people abroad versus the domestic population (for now at least). Happy to provide as many examples of this as you’d like. (Not being cheeky, btw. I respect u)
@moseskagan To clarify, I think the answer is yes to all above… But hard not to notice that people in our country have a habit of only criticizing leaders of certain political persuasions.
@moseskagan Not defending Piker here (or Mao), but is it fair to say that the situation is more complex than simply, “Mao (and all communists) are monsters.” Were US actions in Cambodia (and throughout Indochina) less monstrous? In Cuba? Chile? Guatemala? And so on and so on…
As American hegemony falters and a new global order emerges, Richard Wolff argues the crises around Iran and the Strait of Hormuz reveal capitalism entering another era of historic upheaval — and the need for a socialist alternative. https://t.co/N3zF1Njilo
“AI overtaking us in intelligence lays bare the massive category error we have made in increasingly defining ourselves by our intelligence.”

@ConceptualJames Remarkable that someone with your intellectual superiority believes that a political philosophy which emphasizes economic democracy, anti-corruption, and anti-colonialism is something new… And telling that you think it’s bad on those grounds.
@bungarsargon Sister, are you suggesting that working class folks can’t earn college degrees? Can’t be accountants? Can’t be white? Literally, what are you trying to say here?
@RepJoshG Brother, the only people who seem to “want a war” are centrist “democrats” like you. Wish you had half that fight in you when it comes to standing up against the fascists ruling the country.
@moseskagan Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do you ever realize the upside as the GP (pre-sale), or mostly live off of the fees? Are you finding good enough deals that you are able to refi the LP capital accounts low enough to start seeing cash flow yourself?
Delighted to share my first piece for @NoemaMag. It’s about the power of trespass, the need for a culture of ‘wild service’, and the quiet stirring of the commons. https://t.co/jfta4eOflI
@Saporaku@bairdk That's good info to have regarding Zelle. We had one tenant who paid with that in the past -- but we'll definitely take that into consideration moving forward.
@bairdk@Saporaku That's correct. Can't speak for Zelle, in terms of whether or not you can choose to receive payment, but that's what he is referencing. Once you give a notice, if you accept any form of pmt, the clock resets.
