Lawyer for creators in comics, film, tv, and more. I am a lawyer, but not (necessarily) your lawyer. All comments here are general, not tailored to your needs.
In these days of anxiety, I wanted to find a way to continue to share some of the music that gives me comfort. The first of my #SongsOfComfort: Dvořák – "Going Home”
Stay safe.
this isn't really what twitter is for, but ten years ago today my son died and I basically never talk about it with anyone other than my wife. it's taken me ten years to realize that I want to talk about it all the time.
this is about grief
I’ve received five fraudulent robo-calls this week alone alleging to be the Social Security Admin informing me that my SSN has been suspended for illegal activity.
These are bullshit. If you receive a call like this, hang up and ignore. Do not press “1” or call back.
“Graphic novel” doesn’t describe anything beyond how a comic is packaged.
There’s no connotation of quality, purpose, or original presentation.
Maus, Watchmen, and The Dark Knight Returns were all designed as individual issues before being reformatted as “graphic novels.”
Not ridiculous at all. We are conditioned this way:
“Don’t be so dramatic.”
“Don’t be so emotional.”
“You laugh too loud.”
“You’d be pretty if you were smaller.”
“You’re too much.”
“You want more?”
And on and on and on and on into infinity...
I couldn’t pinpoint my exact mix of emotions on seeing this, and why I felt teary-eyed when I did, but this is it. LOVE this shot so much, LOVE her...at the same time afraid of the reprisal she might face for it. Ridiculous, right???
Is anyone out there a die-hard LUMBERJANES fan? I'm trying to make a surprise gift for my daughter that's LUMBERJANES themed and I have a couple quick questions.
Thinking about my great uncle Frank who survived Normandy invasion. He couldn’t swim, but he jumped off his boat into the water anyway. When asked how he found the courage to do this, he shared that he was so goddamn seasick that he decided right then that he’d rather drown. 1/2
3 years ago, I was utterly unable to speak in public. I took betablockers to speak at my own father’s funeral. And on Monday I did this. Love me, loathe me...whatever. But human to human, please try & recognise how urgent I believe this is by the sheer fucking terror in my voice
@robertdsheridan@DEADLINE OMG this article has literally no on-the-record sources. "An influential tinseltown lawyer" told them lawyers are just not doing work right now? I'm not buying it.
