The worst thing in a marketing team is a leader who doesn't know how to accept that they're not always right.

A reminder - NO #CommProsChat today - we're on vacation this week!

We'll resume next week at 3 p.m. ET.

See you THEN!

@SarahGrahamPR That one agency is NOT how you will make it in life.

(If I share any more, I could get sued.)

I want to see this inside every #PR agency onboarding folder from this day forward. This is Gospel Truth!

@L_V_Anderson Sometimes, people want to see how you react on the fly. As someone who has done this in interviews (where I'm going OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT) and then I start talking and pull out of the tailspin with a decent answer, I get it. But then they're not the right fit. #CommProsChat

@bekiweki @tacobell @Matt_Prince (Feel get?! C'mon stupid talk text. I said FORGET).

[CommProsChat @CommProsChat]

@bekiweki @tacobell @Matt_Prince Um, Beki. Don't feel get to ask about his beard products. I'm a mug but I haven't shaved in 10 years. I need help.

#CommProsChat Question

And S/O to #UefaEuro2021 fans...

[Beki Winchel @bekiweki]

Q7: @Matt_Prince What are opportunities for PR and communications pros, looking forward to the future and shifting landscape? Where can we seize the day? What can we be doing to blaze our career trails? #CommProsChat

[Michelle Garrett | B2B PR Consultant/Writer @PRisUs]

@bekiweki @TheJoelTruth @Matt_Prince Oh, not a surprise.. writing skills - which I view as VITAL to a comms/PR career - are poor in so many cases.

[Robert Fischer @_imPRessive_]

@bekiweki @PRisUs @TheJoelTruth @Matt_Prince I'd agree. When searching for jobs earlier this year, I specifically avoided places requiring cover letters. I felt people didn't read them and they take up a lot of time. I only did them for places I really wanted to work. Thank you notes, though, I always write. #CommProsChat

Q6: @Matt_Prince How about interviews? Any lessons (especially from being "media ready" and media training best practices) that we should keep in mind? What should we look out for? #CommProsChat

@bekiweki @Matt_Prince A5: You should never have to "live up to your resume." Quit the fluff and allow your real skills and achievements speak up. You'll get the gig with confidence, presence, and a tinge of bravado.
