#auctee3100inquiry 2. I will use guided inquiry. It is helpful to not restrict them too much but also to let them have freedom. I will lay the basis for them and they will find their own answers. Similar to the picture, I will be the coach and they will be the swimmers.
@LindseyOberk Teachers have done a good job of standing up for what they believe. Teachers need to be respected more because they keep their heads up high and are vocal. That is what everyone needs to do and to give their own opinion on matters.
@hannah_everage I used to have a talking circle in school where we would be in groups and just talk to each other. Working as one unit in the classroom is best. We all need to be there for each other and to support them.
#auctee3100book "We have done everything under the sun to matter to the country. We have fought and died for the country" (Love, 162). America is ignoring its own people. How can we make a comfortable environment in the classroom?

@EmmaTal01778780 Student's need a solid rock to lean on. We must be there for them, even if we don't know how to handle the problem. What they need is someone who cares.
@hannaheshaw Teachers need to look at the whole class to make decisions. They can't just teach to put a check mark and say they did it. Teachers need to inspire students and affect their life for good.
@alaimo_kelly Students that fall behind or need discipline are usually left behind. The teacher doesn't want to put energy into the student which causes them o fall more. Even a little help can affect the course of a child's life.
@joCTEE3100 Students need a role model who makes them feel welcomed. The teacher needs to talk it out with the child to show they care. Perhaps having them a little longer after class or during breaks to talk to them about it.
"Black joy is to embrace your full humanity, as the world tells you that you are disposable and that you do not matter" (Love, 120). #auctee3100book
Have you ever felt unwanted? How will you make someone not feel that, especially in the classroom?

@hannah_everage Students should feel welcomed into the classroom. Getting to know the student and their family is necessary for success. They need a role model who is willing to help them.
@KaitlynCantave1 In short racism should not be a part of everyday life. We must battle racism together and not just let someone go alone through it. In the school, a teacher can help the students for the future.
#auctee3100book "My Black students in Homestead faced racism and poverty, while my students from Mexico met the additional barriers of racism, language, and citizenship" (Love, 55).
How can we make Mexican students feel welcomed?

@joCTEE3100 Riots will always happen. Some people do it for change others do it for attention. MLK Jr. didn't riot, he spoke calmly for change. He was the voice in the crowd not afraid to say what he believed but he never raised a fist at those who did not agree with him.
@annabolton_01 Schools are publicly funded by surrounding areas. If the areas are poor the school will not receive much money. Money is needed for supplies to improve learning for the students. The environment a student learns in matters which is associated with funding.
"The school printed permission slips in three languages: English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. As diverse as the school was, and still is, its diversity was held together by poverty" (Love, 17). #auctee3100book
