@ToddTheOdd@souljagoytellem Of the vote? He only got a plurality of the eligible vote period(a very typical low turnout election). Of the independent vote I wouldn't call most of them conservative. I would mostly call them stupid. They voted for eggs and got what everyone else expected.
@lolcowYT@abaaacd@Tenzur_@SocDoneLeft It's just kinda interesting. Some farmers switched to artificial insemination, because they were tired of bulls injuring their prized cows and sometimes killing them.
@RomanNumeralXXI @marsimard_@TrueSlazac Eh I guess it depends on who you talk to. Maybe I have met a disproportionate number of people that have gone on a bear hunt. Bears are rarer so you are probably right, but point still stands: we eat tons of predators, just not the mammalian, exclusive variety.
@CBreadman_@LilithLovett Other than licences, we have all that in the US. I believe you have to pay an extra for any caliber larger than 50. You can't buy AP. You can't buy full auto other than for collector purposes with a big'ole tax stamp for an old gun.
@theblackestlist@SocDoneLeft New drug just hit the market about two years ago from what I heard. Dairy farmers are stoked. The whole baby making process is not always desired.
@marsimard_@TrueSlazac Sure but this is why bear and dog are on the table but lion and cat typically aren't. It has nothing to do with "respect for fellow carnivores."
@oscpmentor@erii_ire@BossDuffi@afraidofwasps Cool, but your whole statement is wrong. You don't memorize endgames and openings are not as critical as you say, beyond the basics. Playing at a lowly 1200 I can still mess with a guy that I have played with before by playing differently.
@andystarr0@afraidofwasps In all reality the development of pieces is your tech tree. Depending on your pawns you get to pick the bishop that comes out first. Rooks don't get to play until well into the mid game. It's simple but it is mechanically there for a board game
@BriansMindHouse@NathanAshby19@afraidofwasps White has an advantage, but only statistically for human games. Not in some mechanical way. Additionally, you usually play multiple games to erase that advantage.
@MorphingReality@eterevsky@afraidofwasps So does competitive chess. People have "styles" of play. Playing "off-brand" can put off a lot of opponents. Chess isn't some super special, pure game, but treating it like a game without nuance is also not smart.
@oscpmentor@erii_ire@BossDuffi@afraidofwasps After around move 10 many gms play "off-meta" specifically to prevent this. Especially since the advantage loss isn't that high. This is to say nothing of the fact that most openings retain the majority of material into the mid game.
@SourThumbs @jazzynaturist@DJSnM The aviators took 99% of the risks and when it hit the 1%, we got most of our regulation. At this point SpaceX is dishing out MUCH more risk to the public than some people are, rightfully, comfortable with.
@EERandomness@Skyhawkson@DJSnM If my net worth is a million dollars and I cause damages of 100million dollars liability doesn't matter to the victims. 99% of the victims will not be compensated. I may be willing to risk my million, but the public isn't ready to risk their 100.
@Stratton1966@DJSnM Sure. I don't really have "teams" here. I don't think that any org ever had a first go to orbit without failures. Shepherd wasn't trying to reach orbit iirc though so it's not as equivalent as all that. I would also say that Glenn is not equivalent to falcon 9.
