Over the years, I've learnt that the best, highest performing teams are those where everyone feels a sense of belonging & appreciation for the unique & different things they bring to the team. So I'm happy to post this blog & sketchnote on "things boldly inclusive leaders do". They build an inclusive culture through foundations of continuous learning, active listening, authentic communication & creating a psychologically safe environment for people to thrive: https://t.co/SmBQXNjC2w. Thank you @minettenorman for the principles & @tnvora for your powerful interpretation.
The highest performing teams are built on strong relationships & a deep sense of belonging. Three research-based strategies for leaders: 1) Use commonalities to spark friendships 2) Highlight shared goals 3) Turn tension into connection: https://t.co/TCqRP1l3bi By @RonFriedman

Here’s a plea to anyone organising virtual conferences. Could you give your speakers some love immediately afterwards. Giving an emotional talk and then hanging up as the next section goes live is hard, often as we’re home alone. It’s draining and can leave you feeling empty.
I am about to start some work at University Hospital Crosshouse on trainee wellbeing. Looking for some feedback from trainees (working anywhere/any speciality) on what you NEED as a trainee and what you WANT as a trainee. Please share! Thanks!

Due to the major incident in Glasgow today which the Scottish Ambulance Service is currently attending alongside @policescotland we would please ask people to only call 999 in an emergency. We would also ask people to please stay away from the area.
Congratulations to Mr George Clark who was discharged from University Hospital Ayr today. We previously documented his move out of ICU after 56 days. Lovely to see you reunited with your family. We wish you all the best. #BeKind
The fact the whole of Scotland has only had 29 positive cases of covid reported today which is the lowest infection number since the 17th march, and that we've had over 20 people leave the ICU in the last week, really isn't being shouted about enough
Please- the simple message in Scotland remains the same - #StayHome unless its essential that you leave eg for medical reasons, for food or for exercise. But you can now take exercise outside if distancing etc more than once per day. Don’t risk undoing the progress we’ve made 🙏🏻
When you’re a critical care nurse and see crowds of people in parks or doing the conga, it’s frustrating.
When you’re a critical care nurse watching the crowds of people in parks & a family member dies from Covid-19 with no funeral, extended relatives or service it’s hurtful.
Staff lined the corridors at University Hospital Ayr to applaud Mr Oattes, from Ayr, leave ICU yesterday. These moments congratulate patients moving on to the next stage in their rehabilitation and recovery journey. https://t.co/qirbJGp5Ri
