@fwtimini It is in cities where cheap and filling food options are accessible. We just need to take away expensive permits and regulations for street food. At lunchtime in Bangkok, I saw hundreds of men and women in business outfits eating at the cheap street food stalls.
@choiminhodiet She’s already taken an interest in health so better she learns it from a good source then from other kids. It’s ok to teach her about what makes foods healthy. How foods with vitamin c helps your eyesight. Protein helps you grow strong. Carbs fuel your brain to help you be smart
@choiminhodiet It’s ok to be a bit honest. It’s not good to have too little, and it’s not good to have too many. But as a little kid, your body grows so fast that it doesn’t matter how many calories is in something. What matters is that you are getting enough protein and nutrients.
@Nyct0phil3_x That’s fair, you only specified simple foods. My main point is when you consistently introduce kids to flavorful food, they will usually enjoy it. For ex, kids who grow up in an Indian household have no problem eating Indian food, which tends to be spicy with very bold flavors.
@Nyct0phil3_x My parents fed us a wide variety of cuisines and we never viewed them as “exotic”, it was just food. We never ordered from the kids menu. If we were small, we’d just split entrees. If you constantly feed your kid chicken nuggets and mac and cheese, then that’s what they’ll want.
@JacobAShell This is not true for Bangkok. I visited for 3 weeks and I still have a list of places I want to see that I didn’t get the chance to. The difference is that they just aren’t listed on any tourist blogs. Bangkok has a lot of character and so many interesting neighborhoods.
@until_alive@_bitchsword You’re funny. But everyone loves central park! You can play almost any sport there. There’s gardens, castles, old bridges, live music. Ppl suntanning, smoking, having lunch. I have many Manhattan recs that are actually cool. Jazz clubs, quirky neighborhood stores, amazing food.
@Mid30sManhattan What a shame, you’re missing out on some of the best food in the city! Go to the queens night market in the summer. Over 70 food vendors selling food from different countries with each plate capped at $6. Also, the Queens botanical garden is beautiful.
@_madisontayt Yes it’s goofy, but if they were more evenly distributed then you’d be complaining about how crowded your favorite underrated cafe is. Let them flock to the lines, it keeps the good places quiet.
@JamiePastore9@Theo47102867 It was actually a different place called EUROPE, found on google maps. I know it’s the same one because I remember the big open containers of pickled vegetables and the self-service bar. I will say, Tashkent does seem to be of much higher quality.
@GreyBirth@neoliberal_hack Policy impacts behavior. The goal of the hefty fine isn’t punishment, it’s to disincentivize them from breaking the rule in the first place. It’s possible that this cleanup team causes more offenders if more ppl feel fine not cleaning up bc they know someone else will later.
@MurrayHillGuy1 There’s no point in obtaining peak health if you are going to be perpetually
miserable. The goal should be to become healthy for as long as you can, while still enjoying life.
The book Outlive: The Science & Art of Longevity has a relevant quote about this:
@PaulSkallas On a warm Friday afternoon, in the middle of downtown Chicago, you can very easily get a seat at one of the most famous bakery chains in the country and stay there for as long as you want. This is mind blowing coming from NYC. Chicago feels so much calmer.
