New @DConservPodcast roundup on DC park beautification efforts a la @Interior & @NatlParkService, a @POMA_HQ Summit recap, and my thoughts on opening 95% of National Wildlife Refuge lands to hunting and fishing. Tune in! https://t.co/vgtcoGL65f via @CFACT
I’ve been tracking Oregon IP28 - the so-called PEACE Act - for several months. It just clinched enough signatures to land on the November ballot. If passed, it would ban fishing, hunting, farming, trapping, and even pet ownership. Learn more at @IWF https://t.co/YsfE7C5pMF
Back to Bas(s)ics 🎣
I won fourth place at @POMA_HQ inaugural fishing tournament this AM. I caught four largemouth bass and lost a couple. No pike, sadly.
Days like these make me grateful to be an outdoor media member/journalist. 😎
Climate scientists are officially retiring RCP8.5- the worst case climate change modeling scenario. Why? They attribute it to renewables and climate policies being implausible. But is true? I discuss on @DConservPodcast . https://t.co/J7KjkmjIsV via @CFACT
A streamlined process for environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act gives the government broader discretion to approve projects.

Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” came out 20 years ago this week.
How has it aged?
Not well; none of his worst case scenario predictions came true. But despite being a sleeper, it wasn’t as bad as many of its critics claim.

1/ Inspiring conversation with @GovCox and @SecretaryWright at Operation Gigawatt Summit in Park City, Utah about getting government out of the way so that there’s more abundance. 💯👏👏👏@abundanceinst
I don’t get it: RCP 8.5 is officially dead and wind/solar/beatteries are so cheap now they don’t even need subsidies any more. Shouldn’t the climate guys be psyched, and embrace data center electricity demand?
Most environmentalists—and many of their opponents—take for granted that human flourishing harms wildlife.
In reality, the continued growth of human civilization is the surest way to protect and proliferate life of all kinds.

Chevron just called out California's insane 'green' policies for making gas unbelievably expensive. 👇
“Sacramento policies did this. Now you pay more. California politicians are choosing foreign oil and fuels over local jobs and lower costs.”
President Donald J. Trump REVERSES Biden’s ridiculous refrigerant rules! A huge win for American families, and a major step toward lowering the cost of living. 🇺🇸
Hearing from FL recreational fishing captains that some commercial fishermen partnered with environmental groups Ocean Conservancy and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) to block the South Atlantic red snapper season slated to start today.
NOT COOL. Sport fishing is conservation!
RCP8.5 / SSP5-8.5 is dead.
And, while it was never really plausible to begin with, climate “scientists” (and I use air quotes there) are trying to spin this development with the new CMIP7 models as being a result of falling costs of renewables and the deployment of said technologies to the grid.
But this just isn’t true because RCP8.5 projected a six-fold increase in coal consumption per capita through 2100. It was never plausible from the get go (e.g., Ritchie & Dowlatabadi, 2017; Pielke & Ritchie, 2021).

Academics, particularly in this field, love to rewrite history because it absolves them of accountability, and the media eats it up.
“The UN just walked back its climate doomsday models – after BILLIONS were wasted. ‘Every apocalypse is a business model.’ They used fear to grab your cash, your gas stove, your truck, your burger.”
Watch this epic takedown of the climate cult from @greggutfeld.
“The UN is backing off after calling you a climate denier, as if questioning the faulty models is like denying the Holocaust. But no big apology, no refund check, no "our bad." Because in the end, they got what they wanted. The motive wasn't the environment, it was greed. The instrument was fear. Once panic becomes an industry, there's no incentive to calm people down. That's why every Dem crisis now comes with a consultant, a nonprofit, a celebrity telethon, and a 900-page spending bill. Every apocalypse is a business model. And for the climate change scammers, no business had been hotter than the end of the world.”
READ from @RyanWeather in @realdailywire: Trump Was Right About Hyperbolic Climate Models
"President Trump has been consistent: the climate alarmism pushed by some activists and their media allies contains large elements of exaggeration and a political agenda. The quiet retirement of RCP 8.5 proves he was right all along about these hyperbolic models. The media only reported on the story days after Trump and the White House broke the news on social media. But the New York Times couldn’t report the major news without wrapping it in face-saving language that still protects the broader narrative.
Science best advances when it corrects its errors openly. The RCP 8.5 saga shows how slowly and grudgingly that correction happens when politics and funding are involved. Americans deserve better than this narrative management disguised as science. They deserve a full accounting and audit of the damage done by hyperbolic climate model scenarios."

Yesterday @housescience passed my Next-Generation Geothermal Research and Development Act. Here is what that means for you:
⚡The earth's core produces enormous heat that we can convert into electricity, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, regardless of weather
🔬 This bill funds the research to actually get to it and bring it to market
💰 More power on the grid means lower bills and a more reliable grid
Your electricity bill keeps going up and the grid keeps struggling to meet demand, but this will help fix it.
