Stop scrolling TikTok and read something.
When we formed this library, we created a place to remember.
When @qweshunga started, she created a place to breathe.
Today, we breathe & remember together. This isn't a merger, it's an unfolding love story, as we wind down the love month, also ur invitation to belong!

The Electoral Commission (Adoption and Manner of Use of Biometric Voter Verification System) Regulations, 2025 mandate biometric voter verification at all polling stations before a ballot paper is issued, prescribe the manner of use of biometric voter verification kits, and provide for facial recognition where fingerprint verification fails.
The Regulations further require, before the commencement of voting, the use of scanners on biometric voter verification kits to read unique codes on ballot papers for the purpose of creating inventories of ballot papers used, and at the close of polls and before the commencement of counting, the use of the scanners to read the unique codes on all cast ballot papers for the purpose of creating an inventory of the ballot papers cast at the polling station; they also require the capture of image copies of signed declarations of results forms using the camera on the biometric voter verification kits, which are stored on the kits.
They criminalise a presiding officer’s failure to use the biometric voter verification system or biometric voter verification kit, and any unlawful interference with it, prescribing a fine of up to six currency points or imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months, or both.
Lastly, they amend the Electoral Commission (Adoption and Manner of Use of Technology in the Management of Elections) Regulations, 2021 by revoking regulation 2(2)(i) and regulation 4.

Wearing floor-length dresses and wrap-around skirts, the group of elderly women giggle and tease each other as they jog in pairs, hand in hand, across a playing field in Kivubuka, a village in eastern Uganda. https://t.co/XgvcUnjTd7

Finally, to the medical practitioners on this app, please remember that you have a duty to sensitise and educate the public with compassion and within the bounds of the ethical principles that guide our profession. (7/7)
I encourage all women to have regular checkups with a trusted gynaecologist. Ask questions — knowledge is power. Ask about the risk factors and what lifestyle changes you can make to protect yourself. Remember, a risk factor is not the same as a cause. (5/7)
2. Should women abandon their careers out of fear of fibroids?
Absolutely not. Most women who delay childbirth do not develop fibroids. And even if they do, fibroids are treatable. The key is early detection. (4/7)
So, two questions I will answer:
1. Does giving birth later in life cause fibroids?
No. But delayed childbearing may be one of many factors that contribute to your overall risk. (3/7)
Having one risk factor doesn’t mean you’ll get fibroids, and not having any doesn’t mean you’re immune. Fibroids develop due to a combination of influences: genetic, hormonal, dietary, environmental, and possibly even stress-related factors. (2/7)
We do not fully understand what causes fibroids yet. What we do know is that certain things — like never having been pregnant, being of Black ethnicity, or having a higher body weight — can make fibroids more likely. These are called risk factors, not causes. (1/7)
Recently, CNN Call to Earth featured our work in the documentary titled "Kings of the Forest." This 22 minute film highlights my leadership journey in conservation and the critical work we are doing at Conservation Through Public Health together with Uganda Wildlife Authority to protect endangered mountain gorillas while supporting the communities that live alongside them.

There are gangs attacking runners across Kampala again, and it makes me so mad that the main course of action is just to stop running outdoors.
Having to choose between health and safety is such a depressing notion.
Story #28:
The year is 1988. @GovUganda is making a new Constitution through a Commission collecting views from Ugandans. The Commission's Vice Chairman, Prof. Dan Mudhola will be murdered and the killer will run to a witchdoctor for protection. This is the story.
