@anothercohen Basically "creating" new products, ideating on business models & customer discovery, incubating them (sometimes), and then turning them over to the LOBs.
@davidmarcus Capital One is best fit as a buyer. GS is an interesting wild card. PNC is big enough, wants to expand westward, & has a low-risk profile the FDIC will like. Those 3 buyers could step in without needing the Big 4 (JPM, BofA, Citi, or WF).
@therealtatianaf @sweatystartup I don't think funding is the barrier. Childcare is a MASSIVE industry & need. If you can model out the economics & run a small-scale pilot well, the funding would come.
@therealtatianaf @sweatystartup The caretaker to child ratio laws in place in most locales is the biggest barrier to scale it. I looked into it & stopped exploring any further after the varying (& expensive) regulations made me sure it can't scale well.
@ppplleeee@UncleDiesel_@unusual_whales No...it's blackstone (the pe shop). They are buying up large swaths of single family homes to turn it into a new asset class. Blackrock (an asset manager) would invest other people's money into pe shops (like blackstone) to get the returns for their retirement portfolios.
Last year, I had a conversation that changed my life.
It caused me to upend everything and move across the country.
The lesson from it may change yours:
@healthcareandy I think mental health greatly deteriorated during Covid & people (like me) started meditating. Once the lockdowns subsided & people started interacting irl again, the need for mental health / meditation returned to a more reasonable baseline. I've been using Headspace less lately
