If you are lucky and your parents||guardians are still alive, give them a phone call today, send them to their nearest clinic for simple hypertension & Diabetes screening. This will cost you only 10K or less but you can’t imagine how important it is in their life. Priotize their health before it gets late. Hypertension (Puleesa) & Diabetes (Sukaali) continue to escalate. They are very deadly if NOT diagnosed early or well managed.

I understand that we have a lot to fix & align our healthcare system but scrapping off Medical interns’ allowances is crossing a red line. These young medical professionals play a very critical role in supporting our healthcare system.
By now, we should be looking at how to incorporate other medical degrees into the national internship policy NOT weakening the already existing medical internship. Unpaid medical internship does not only affect the Medical interns but rather pushes catastrophic consequences to our underprivileged Ugandans who solely rely on public/government healthcare where these Medical interns largerly serve.
The high class-ugandans who solely rely on private healthcare may not fully understand the role of medical interns in Uganda’s healthcare system.
