I never made the connection before but this can actually extend to people that were never burned by GRRM or PR. My friends and I were burned so bad by these books that it rubbed off on our kids. My 15 year old daughter is hesitant to start a series that isn't complete because she has heard from me and other family complaining about what happened.

Literally everything she mentioned is meaningless to men. No man gives a shit if there are toothpaste splashes on the mirror, if they start to bother him he just wipes them off and poof problem solved. Everything she mentioned are things that matter to her, but if you asked him he would likely shrug and go "Thanks I guess" or on the one thing that might be important like "Give kids vitamins" he would just give them to the kids and go on about his day. How low is her bar here? "I take the trash out, help take care of my own kids, clean. You know, anything you can teach a 10 year old to do."
