Pacific voices are loud, clear, anxious - urgent global climate action w/ financing to make it happen is a must! We also hear 'decarbonize shipping', 'decongest plastic-filled Pacific seas'. Thx 🇯🇵 @ODA_mofa_japan as angel investor to #PacificGreenTransformation w/ @UNDPasiapac
What a great engagement it has been during the 10th EAPAC #BIOFIN dialogue in #Georgia. In the #Pacific, BIOFIN provides innovative financial solutions to conserve biodiversity, secure funds, develop sustainable financing mechanisms, and implement conservation projects.
Amazing cohort of inspiring innovators being provided much needed performance based grants to accelerate their sustainable businesses to greater heights. I am humbled by the catalytic value of development finance when it is used in the right spaces.

A million plastic bottles are used every minute.
And plastics that are used only for minutes can last for hundreds of years, scattered everywhere.
We need to rethink & change the way we produce, consume, & dispose of plastics to #BeatPlasticPollution. https://t.co/KB8QB5X7Na
On an annual basis, plastic production & the incineration of plastic waste gives rise globally to approximately 400 million tons of CO2, according to research. 99% of plastics are fossil-based, 90% of plastic produced uses virgin fossil fuel feedstocks.
The UNDP Pacific Multi Country Office received Gender Equality Gold Certificate Seal today. Thrilled that @UNDPAccLabFiji was part of the journey and supported the achievement, and as well received special recognition from the appraisal team for our contributions. @UNDPAccLabs
This Diver rescues a fish trapped in plastic.
Countless marine animals get trapped in plastic waste we discard. Even the smallest plastic packaging is deadly underwater.
It's time to end plastic pollution.
