We are experiencing amazing growth at our 15 month old startup @TellenAI and we are hiring engineers like crazy.
If you are a full stack engineer with experience building applications using AI models and are looking for a fast paced, collaborative environment that is both challenging and rewarding - my DMs are open !
@JayaGup10 Don’t think employees would behave differently. Individual employees are not incentives to behave in ways that protects the interest of the employees as a collective
Every week there seems to be another headline about AI spending.
Meta is reportedly exploring new ways to finance AI infrastructure.
Big Tech is projected to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on AI this year.
At the same time, CFOs are increasingly struggling to understand where AI dollars are actually going.
What’s interesting is that we spend a lot of time talking about AI implementation, but very little time talking about AI spend management.
AI creates a very different cost profile than traditional software.
Software licenses are relatively predictable.
AI is increasingly consumption-based.
Tokens.
API calls.
Agents.
Inference.
Background workflows.
Costs scale with usage.
And unlike payroll, facilities, or software licenses, AI spend often doesn’t have a clear owner.
Part of it sits with IT.
Part of it sits with business units.
Part of it sits on cloud bills.
Part of it is embedded inside other software products.
As AI adoption accelerates, companies will need better answers to some basic questions:
• How much are we spending on AI?
• Who is driving the spend?
• Which use cases are generating value?
• How should costs be allocated?
• What controls and governance should exist?
This feels like a significant opportunity for accounting firms.
The same profession that developed frameworks for financial reporting, internal controls, cost accounting, and technology governance is well positioned to help companies establish frameworks and tools for AI spend management.
The AI implementation market may be crowded.
The AI governance and spend management market is just getting started.
