Channel 4 News was at the scene of an airstrike in Lebanon that hit near a hospital just moments after a team of paramedics attended a funeral for one of their colleagues in Nabatieh.
It comes as President Trump has announced that a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will begin later tonight.
More than a million people have been displaced by the Israeli invasion of the south, while airstrikes have struck across the country, targeting villages and major cities.
Elderly tenants are being priced out of their homes by unregulated “service fees” in seniors’ residences.
Rent is capped — but meals and basic care? Wide open to profiteering.
This is elder abuse by another name.

‼️MUST LISTEN
@trklou, Palestinian ER physician, working in Gaza, was invited to lecture at #MEMC (medical conference).
@aaeminfo tried to censor him — but he turned it into a masterclass in truth-telling.
Shame on AAEM & all medical orgs enabling genocide.

We are encouraged by @OntariosDoctors pushing for uninsured care to be covered.
Many people who build our homes, care for the elderly, grow our food, are uninsured migrants who do not have access to healthcare.
We need #Healthcare4All!

Once again the Liberal govt violates workers’ right to free collective bargaining. Once again, it interferes on behalf of management. Once again, it harms workers trying to gain better working conditions - in this case mostly women forced to work for free.
Utterly shameful.
Today, July 16, at 3 am, Israeli forces bombed tents of displaced people in Khan Younis as they further expand their operation in the area. Our colleague Hossni Al Naijar, was among those injured in the attack, while a baby in the tent next to his was killed. Shrapnel hit Hosni’s back, filling his lungs with blood. He was immediately taken to Nasser hospital but the lack of beds meant he had to be moved to the MSF Al Zawaida Field Hospital in Deir Al Balah for further treatment.
We have had 2 colleagues injured and 1 killed in less than a month. Over the past 24 hours alone, Israeli forces have killed 93 Palestinians and injured 278 more in continued and relentless attacks across the Strip, according to the Ministry of Health. Every one of these numbers represents a life cut short, or forced to go through pain, suffering and loss. This must stop now.
I’m in a group chat with other international healthcare workers who have volunteered and worked in Gaza. Multiple people have had baby formula confiscated by the Israeli military as they enter Gaza. These are not isolated incidents, but a systemic policy of genocide.
Israel has killed an entire generation of Palestinian doctors in Gaza. They were not only the healthcare workers for their people, but they were the medical educators for an entire new generation of Palestinian doctors who are now deprived of their teaching and mentorship.
Clayton Dalton visited hospitals across Gaza as part of a medical aid mission. In one, he was stunned to see medical devices that looked like they had been methodically destroyed. (The I.D.F. denies that it has deliberately targeted medical equipment.) https://t.co/7LC5mqwSw8
⚫️ Gaza: We are deeply saddened and appalled by the killing of our colleague Hussam Al Loulou. Hussam was killed, along with his wife and daughter, on 1 April in an airstrike on Deir Al-Balah.
Hussam is the 11th MSF colleague killed since the war started and the second in two weeks.
We call for an immediate restoration of the ceasefire and for the protection of civilians.

Staggering details from this story:
- After TX banned abortion, rate of sepsis shot up more than 50% for women hospitalized when they lost their pregnancies in the 2nd trimester
- The rate of maternal deaths in TX rose 33% btwn 2019 + 2023 even as national rate fell by 7.5%
I never imagined a world where physicians speaking up against the senseless murder of children, the killing of tens of thousands of innocent civilians would be accused of unprofessionalism. Yet, this is the reality that many face today — one that we cannot accept. We must continue to resist injustice in all its forms.

1. There are no verified cases of poisoning from a casual fentanyl exposure.
2. Perpetuating this myth has consequences, and can delay first responders and bystanders from helping people who are overdosing, which can lead to death or brain/organ damage.
1/ Canada's 5th #MAID report came out last week. More information (82 pages!), less fanfare, likely due to people being better at interpreting observational data.
Here's a 🧵 with some key findings
