57k people on a hard to defend island are easy to bully.

Colonial ties with DK likely have been the obstacle to any earlier takeover by the US.

A European nuclear 2nd strike capability would protect well against Russian attempts to blackmail Europe into submission by Russian 1st strike capability.
A European nuclear "Umbrella" is only meant to counter this Russian nuclear threat. This is its only purpose.
It can prevent nuclear exchange and takes nuclear extortion out of the diplomatic game, empowering "Europe" to be seen as an equal instead of a weak target. Hence European nuclear capability is important to ensure European sovereignty.
Its not a magic wand to prevent any conflict at all, only to prevent nuclear escalation and to keep any conflict conventional.
To prevent a conventional war you clearly need to build up conventional forces as well to increase the price tag the potential aggressor then hopefully is unwilling to pay (since any nuclear shortcut is unfeasable).

Therefore Europe requires both, conventional and nuclear. Relying on merely one of these two alone won't do and might encourage the aggressor to try his luck.

Unsere Sicherheit ist vor allem die eigene Wehrhaftigkeit, die eigene Verteidigungsfähigkeit.

"Europa" hatte 3 Jahre Zeit. Aus der Phrase "Ukraine darf nicht verlieren/ muss gewinnen" ist nichts geworden. War es fehlender Wille oder Unvermögen? Etwa beides?
"Europa" ist nicht mehr ernstzunehmen. Weder auf der globalen Bühne, noch von den Ukrainern, noch durch die Bürger Europas in ihrem Bedürfnis nach Selbstverteidigungsfähigkeit.

Die Ukraine ist bereits allein, egal was "Europa" dazu sagt. Da wir schon die Sicherheit der 🇺🇦 nicht hinbekommen konnten, ist dies vielleicht ein Indikator dafür, dass wir uns dringend um unsere eigene Sicherheit kümmern sollten?

Ich hoffe "wir Europäer" sind jetzt nicht etwa so dämlich, die rein symbolische "Sicherung" einer ukrainisch/russischen Demarkationslinie zu übernehmen, hinter deren Schutz sich die USA dann an den ukrainischen Rohstoffen bedient, während wir durch diese Gebundenheit noch weiter geschwächt werden.
