@athyuttamre Could be! Sometimes they just need the right champion, and it takes years to slowly fill in all the tooling / ecosystem gaps. I do think that framing crystal primarily by comparing it to ruby sells it short
GPT-4 Turbo with Vision is now generally available in the API. Vision requests can now also use JSON mode and function calling.

How are people finding the GPT-4 with Vision API? What’s not working for you? What are your feature requests?
We’re planning next chunks of work and would love your input!
So. About @OpenAI. I've been bombarded by sales calls from rival LLM companies seeking some opportunistic business wins. That's fair game and business is a contact sport so I get it. And we were already evaluating backup providers as a hedge before the drama. But the reason we're sticking with OpenAI beyond just the fact that their models are excellent is because they made a commitment to @BeMyEyes before that was a sexy thing to do. They prioritized accessibility when no one was looking. And they got in the trench with us to build a great product we call Be My AI™ even though it's close to meaningless for them from a revenue perspective. Thank you @sama, @bradlightcap, @JessicaShieh, and the many others that helped us along the way. I'm not going to opine on the Board drama except for one thing: We are 100% behind OpenAI because they and their people are phenomenal - both technically and personally.
I deeply regret my participation in the board's actions. I never intended to harm OpenAI. I love everything we've built together and I will do everything I can to reunite the company.
I still talk to great software engineers who think their talents wouldn't be highly valued in an AI research environment.
Opposite is true; this profile gives a sense of why: https://t.co/UyEYtbC9nn
tl;dr — with unprecedented scale comes unprecedented software challenges.
