A person can spend years thinking they chose their direction, only to leave their environment and realize how much of that direction was chosen for them.
Elon Musk was right when he said take your 10 year goals and try to do them in the next six months. Even if you fail, this is the correct mindset that wins. Most people set tiny goals they know they can achieve. But Elon does the opposite. He sets impossible goals and even when he fails he's still further ahead than everyone else. If your 10 year goal is to make a million dollars and you try to do it in 6 months, you'll probably fail. But you might make 200k. Massive goals force you to think differently, work differently, take bigger risks. They make you uncomfortable and that discomfort is where growth happens. So stop setting safe goals you are sure you can hit.
Life isolates you when you are meant for big things. Every champion has an isolation period. Jesus had 40 days in the desert. Muhammad had years in the cave. Isolation removes noise, removes fake friends, removes shortcuts. Use the quiet time to sharpen your mind. When the spotlight comes back, you'll be ready. If you're feeling isolated right now, this might not be a bad thing. This might be preparation. Every successful person I know had a period where they felt alone and misunderstood. But they used that time to build something. And when they came out of isolation, they were unstoppable. So if you're isolated right now, don't waste it complaining about being lonely. This is your training session. Build in silence and let your success speak for itself later.
Ten bad years can be erased by two focused ones. This is the secret most people never learn. They think because they wasted their 20s or 30s they're doomed. That's complete bullshit. Two years of total focus and discipline can make people forget you ever struggled. Momentum is magical because it compounds. The first 6 months of focus is hard and you see little progress. But then month 7, 8, 9 things start clicking. By year two people are asking you for advice. By year three people forget you were ever broke or lost. The past becomes irrelevant. The next two years will erase the last ten if you actually lock in.
All it takes is 67 days. Just a little more than two months. To make up for 10 years you regret. 67 days of totally focusing. Avoiding distractions. Saying yes to the right things and no to the stupid ones. Lock in my friend and watch everything change. Two months of discipline can reverse a decade of drift. Most people won't do it because 67 days sounds too too simple. But that's all it really takes. Not so long.
@neo_officialll Ecclesiastes 7:28. Though I have searched repeatedly, I have not found what I was looking for. Only one out of a thousand men is virtuous, but not one woman!
Each year give yourself an upgrade. Lift heavier. Get leaner. Eat better quality foods. Improve your sleep. Read the books. Learn the skills. Hang around better quality people. Each year is a chance to upgrade your hardware and software or go the opposite way. Don't waste it.
There’s a Chinese proverb that goes like this.
‘If your mind is strong, all difficult things will become easy.
If your mind is weak, all easy things will become difficult’.
Read it twice.
The less you need, the more dangerous you become. Need makes you predictable, leverage makes you free. Indifference is not detachment, it is power, for the man who cannot be bribed or rushed forces the world to adjust to his tempo rather than collapsing into theirs.
Always carry yourself like your life matters. Because it does. Stand tall. Walk with confidence. Make eye contact. Take care of your body. Be present. Think independently. Listen before you speak. Bet on yourself. If you do that, the world will start bending to your will.
