[Mehdi Sotoudeh @Mehdi_S0838]

No young man in Iran gets to pick his military unit. Many are forced into the IRGC. These conscripts are not supporters of that institution

A negative decision doesn't just close a file — it erases a former conscript's life in Canada. No work permit. No study permit. No health insurance. No bank account. How can Canada treat innocent people like this? @AliEhsassi @gary_srp @AHousefather @pfragiskatos @vincentneilho @LenaMetlegeDiab @annamgainey #ConscriptsAreNotMembers

Canada can be tough on the IRGC without treating forced conscripts like members. National security and fairness can coexist.

Anassignment made under compulsory conditions can follow someone for decades. Canada should ensure that historical conscription is carefully examined rather than automatically equated with voluntary IRGC membership. We need clear guidance and meaningful individual assessments.
