Welcome initiative @DGP_Goa. Please ensure that arrangements are done for making the meet inclusive : Accessible toilet for males and female PswD, proper sitting arrangement for Persons with Disability, sign language interpreter is arranged so that people with hearing impairement do not feel excluded,etc.
Also I take this opportunity to remind DGP Mr. Alok Kumar to see that South Goa District Police Head Quarters is made accessible with a hydraulic lift.

My weekly column on issues of disability in daily Lokmat today on Sunday October 19,2025 analysis the reality of grossly poor Political participation of Persons with Disability. They continue to face systemic barriers, biases, and stereotypes that hinder them from contesting elections. This needs to change.
Ensuring the political participation of persons with disabilities is not merely about making the voting process accessible. It is to ensure that PswD are not only voters but also candidates. India needs more persons with disabilities running for office.
Significant lack of political will to support their candidacy has led to their being grossly under-represented in politics. Major political reforms need to be pushed for this, yesterday.
