imagine there was a 5th Beatle who couldn’t play an instrument, had a worse voice than the others, didn’t write any of the music, tried to dissuade the band from making Revolver, purposefully sabotaged Sgt. Pepper from ever being finished, was a rapist, and they couldn’t fire him
@realJackEason I'd love to see it on 35mm one day. I will try and persuade myself to watch the Director's cut next time I put it on. I just have a regular blu ray edition so didn't even know about there being even more versions out there! It's probably my favourite Mann but I have a few to see.
This is actually a really solid and underrated album the only thing it's really lacking is a Dennis track. It feels like it's really missing something even if I enjoy every song on it.
Today in 1985, The Beach Boys released their 25th studio album, The Beach Boys. Brian and Mike traded lead vocals on the album’s first single “Getcha Back” and Brian wrote or co-wrote three others, as well as the bonus track “Male Ego.” What’s your favorite track?
@gooolixx I'll have to give this album a proper listen soon I've only heard bits and pieces. I think it might be a bonus track but "It's Like Heaven" with Brian on the choruses is like actually one of my favourite songs, it should've been on Love You.
@WillSloanEsq What are your thoughts on his Tintin movie? It honestly might be my favourite one (haven't seen AI yet) but then I grew up on the comics and cartoons
My top 5
The Beach Boys
Matt Farley
GUM
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard
Strawberry Alarm Clock or The Zombies based solely on Odessey and Oracle
Honourable mentions:
The Beatles
Eric Burdon & the Animals
Curtis Harding
Al Jardine is 100% the Ringo of the Beach Boys. The chill, mild-mannered stable and consistent member of the group with a love of the more folksy/country stuff and doing covers (also still alive). I'm not even sure if Bruce Johnston has much of an equivalent.
And this is exactly why the Beach Boys are so great.
Also if it is The House That Jack Built being referred to here, well it is my favourite Alan Price Set song I've heard so he's right there.
A new ‘ADVENTURES OF TINTIN’ movie is officially happening.
Peter Jackson is currently writing the script with plans to direct the film himself.
