Since her nomination to the DNI, Russia has publicly praised her, but five-eyes partners have spoken out in concern, going as far as to say that the US would not be “read-in” to sensitive intelligence matters from partners if she’s at the helm.

Trump has made a lot of dumb quid-pro-quo cabinet choices.

But Tulsi Gabbard is the most dangerous.

The European Parliament will pass a non-binding resolution on 🇬🇪 on 28 nov. Key thing to look out for is if the resolution will call for new elections. There were talks about if Zourabichvili would attend the plenary but looks unlikely.

Regarding signaling, the Biden administration leaked the news about the policy change (and continuing restrictions) on ATACMS strikes in Russian territory to the media before the first strike, and Russia warned the United States before the launch of the Oreshnik missile. Both sides wanted to limit the surprise, presumably because of escalation concerns.

BREAKING: the 🇪🇺Parliament's 3 centrist groups have struck a deal to continue their alliance, approving 🇪🇺President @VonDerLeyen's entire college of commissioners so she can start her 2nd term in 1 December.

The center-right EPP group was threatening to blow up the alliance in order to defend the two commissioner nominees from the far-right PfE & ECR groups.

The center holds for now but this has left the center-left and liberals distrustful of the EPP, who appeared ready to form a right-wing coalition with the far right as their member parties have already done in several member state governments (🇮🇹🇳🇱🇫🇮)
