It’s 2026. If you’re writing papers that say “this key escrow capability will be split among a judicial enforcement arm and the police” in the US it’s time to just be clear that you’re proposing full government cleartext access.
@Endoftheroast@zillaah707 Mine are Huskadors and I have no idea if that’s better/worse than pure labs, but they shed enough weekly to make a whole new dog 😂
@courtneyknill When I was in HS in central AR we had some guy move in from Vegas. Thought he was a stud bc he was used to desert heat.
3rd afternoon of 2-a-days, guess who got an ambulance ride?
@sneedrocks@MageAndokai@philthatremains Now, most private buys I’ve ever done had a Bill Of Sale - just an informal paper that each side signs and buyer shows ID so seller can prove transfer if ever useful to do so. It’s just a goodwill gesture tho and I doubt legally useful
@sneedrocks@MageAndokai@philthatremains As I understand it, it all hinges on seller’s status as Fed-registered “dealer” or not.
If a licensed dealer, you must do 4473/checks. Always.
If not a dealer, you *can’t* run checks. No access to that process exists for non-dealers.
@sneedrocks@MageAndokai@philthatremains Every purchase from a dealer has Fed requirement for filling out ATF Form 4473 and waiting for background check, regardless of location. It’s far more than “here’s my name/address”, it’s literally the same process as if at retail location. No less
@sneedrocks@MageAndokai@philthatremains But Feds don’t regulate private transactions btwn same-state non-dealer individuals, and IMO they shouldn’t. No Const basis for that imposition.
(I’m no expert, but that’s all how I understand it. Not claiming it’s perfect)
@sneedrocks@MageAndokai@philthatremains Eh, depends on who you ask. Subtle difference.
As I heard it, the anti-gun ppl usually misrepresent that as “no purchase at shows requires checks”, which is untrue. Dealers always require checks regardless of location/context
@MageAndokai@philthatremains Generally yes, but there are exceptions.
You have to have ID (and background check, Fed paperwork, etc) to buy from a dealer or retail store.
For face to face purchase from some rando individual, there’s no Fed requirement for it. Some states require it, but many don’t.
This is Buster and Bella. They are brother and sister.
I posted about Buster yesterday and as of today he is still available for adoption, and so is his sister Bella.
A little about Buster and Bella.
Buster has a Reduced Fee
He is a 4 year old Labrador mix brought to the shelter as a stray with his sister Bella. Buster is shy, but watches everyone carefully to determine if anyone is trustworthy. Buster will need a long time to get to know his family and trust them, but we can tell he wants to be part of a family. He needs the opportunity to become the dog he was meant to be. Buster is not aggressive and gets along with other dogs. If you want to truly save a dog, adopt Buster and save him from a lifetime of shelter life. A fenced yard is required to Buster safe.
Buster has a reduced adoption fee and includes first shots, worming, microchip, and sterilization. They have a dog park to check compatibility with possible sibling dogs.
Bella also has a Reduced Fee
Beautiful and sweet, she is a 4 year old Labrador mix brought to the shelter as a stray. This girl is very shy, but wants to be someone’s companion badly. She needs a little attention, love, and patience to help her be the dog she is meant to be. It is very rewarding to be part of a rescue and you will forever have a best friend. Bella needs a fenced yard for her safety.
Bella has a reduced adoption fee and includes first shots, worming, microchip, and sterilization. There is a dog park to check compatibility with possible sibling dogs.
Take a chance on Buster and Bella, they are worth it!
Buster is on the left and Bella is on the right.
What a special thing it would be if they could both get adopted together and remain with each other.
This is Buster. 🐾❤️
Buster has spent 4 years watching the world from behind shelter walls. He's not the dog rushing up to greet you. He's the one hiding in the corner, unsure if people can really be kind. The world has scared him for so long that he's forgotten what safety feels like.💔
But, underneath that fear is a gentle soul wno deserves patience, love, and a chance to finally exhale.
Shelter life is no place for a dog to spend year after year waiting to be chosen.
Don’t overlook Buster because he’s scared. He just needs some love and patience. What a beautiful dog he is. 💯
Do you know someone who would be interested in adopting Buster?
