@MrsGoodchild1 Your kids won’t remember the volume of presents in years to come. What will be discussed on future christmases is the funny and sweet moments that surround the day. Hope you have a magical time together.
@HeadsInABook @GeographyTeac12 @blatchgeog@GeographyCarrie@GeographyTom9 @davidErogers Sounds good. BRICs is an acronym for some newly industrialised countries (NICs) specifically: Brazil, Russia, India & China (other noteworthy NICs include: South Africa & Mexico). Being able to comfortably locate these countries invites them to explore the map with confidence.
We regret that we are temporarily closing the Academy for Yrs 8,9, 10 and 12 students. This due to staff absence. Please see our letter to parents https://t.co/20FvH9lKWG. Yrs 7, 11 and 13 to attend as normal. We will be in regular contact and review daily. Thank you.
It’s been a while since I have posted a #geogra_free. But conversations from the curious minds of my students have inspired this one on #COVID19 and its effects on countries with high proportions of elderly. Please read it and tell me what you think? https://t.co/IEGwwXngq0
Celebrated #InternationalWomensDay with some self-love with a half marathon in training for the London Marathon (🤞🏻 Covid-19 allows it to go forward)

For #WorldBookDay2020 I was Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games. It reminded me that wishing for ‘the odds be ever in your favour’ is not enough. #whyiteach is to push my students to be hungry to learn and progress as this raises the ‘odds in their favour’ of being successful.
Enjoyed a trip to Portugal 🇵🇹 over the half term. Discounted teacher entrance to @MaatMuseum and @quintaregaleira was a extra perk. Any where else where teachers can in for free/discounted?
Amazing time learning about foraging with @TotallyWildUK and the interwoven relationship mushrooms have with their surrounding environment. Special mention to the most fungi of the group my dad.
Feel incredibly honoured to have been nominated for the 'transforming lives as a leader' award. Well done to all nominees and winners. #ProudtobeHAB#thinkharris
we have imbedded challenge into our curriculum through identifying thresholds students will need to retrieve from their long term memory to stick new knowledge. @EnserMark has made me consider however how to develop training staff’s own schema. Any ideas #geography#ThinkHarris
Yesterday I have 4 hours back2back #revision with year 11 for #OCRGeography paper 3- on my birthday. Thankfully we kept each other motivated with biscuits and the ultimate geography quiz with geography-pun team names. Congrats to the winners searious beaches 🏆! 🙏 for you today.
‘We are going to be the future for the world, so we need to tackle [climate change]’ Inaara year 7- representing @HABermondsey at the @TeamLDN at the environment and sustainability youth submit.
@Roballpress @MrsHumanities Works well if you teach several classes in the same year group. This means you can get them to compete against each other to get the best times. Helps motivate and engage them.
@Roballpress @MrsHumanities Make dominos. Each has a question and an answer. The start has no answer and only has a question I.e where are the polar regions? Then another student has the answer- Arctic and Antarctica. Then they read their question. You can time it, reshuffle and repeat to beat their time.
