@DanteJeffe14617@JacobAShell 1. They usually refuse to discuss it at all 2. This is probably not true among other scientists
3. Could there be an element of defending their turf?
My group's work dissecting the contribution of common variants to rare neurodevelopmental conditions is now out at https://t.co/C8sq6UlaeS. See this thread from co-first authors @qinqin_huang and @EmilieWigdor with a summary of the key findings.
Several of our findings are relevant to understanding incomplete penetrance of rare variants in rare neurodevelopmental conditions (cf this recent preprint by @ksamocha@mehurles https://t.co/ttNA9nnIVV). See our preprint for details https://t.co/ZVmPqrT0Gh.
Check out our new work led by @DMalawsky on common and rare variant contributions to longitudinal measures of cognitive ability, using new exome sequence data from British birth cohorts. Lots of interesting findings about dynamic and non-uniform effects of genetics on cognition.
@JulietFrench01 So a man has to be Excellent to get funded, and a woman has to be Very Good. Equality, anyone? Huge congratulations to the few that were successful

@nir_eynon I am just sorry it took me so long - but I did spend a lot of time battling my Federal (Green) MP. Of course she wasn’t to be persuaded to say that Israel had a right to defend itself- but there will be a general election before too long ….
A retraction and apology has been issued by iNews for the baseless accusation made by journalist @PatrickStrud against Kellie-Jay Keen, aka @ThePosieParker. Mr Strudwick has forgotten to share this on Twitter, so it would be nice if people could help him out.
@Johanna_A_Joyce At my medical research institute in Australia I instituted a bonus scheme for mothers so that all faculty and senior post-docs with children prior to high school get a bonus of about 10%. They can pay tax and take it home to spend on anything they want; or no tax and use at work.
Just another day at the offi-, err, scabies lab...
