New from @instituteGC: a proposal for Lovelace Disruptive Invention Labs
Is a better science possible, & how can we build it? 🏗️
Britain should pioneer a complementary model for research at the intersection of science & engineering – inverting core assumptions of modern public R&D

We study how resistance and durable remission emerge in IDH1-mutant AML.
Our paper on detecting and quantifying clonal selection from a single bulk sequencing sample is out! This was a great collaboration with @pvyas_oxford, Thomas Höfer, @asger_jakobsen and @NaserAnsariPour. Read the full story here: https://t.co/bpA30Lyy9Q
@HannahItell@NatureMicrobiol@fredhutch@MCBSeattle Great work and interesting implications. I may have missed it but do we know how/when/if SLC35A2 (or indeed any other gene maintaining full-length glycosylation) is lost during course of disease, eventually allowing X4/dual-tropism?
Therapy resistance is a major barrier to curing cancer. However, what if we could leverage cancer resistance mechanisms to strategically install them into cell therapies, enhancing their efficacy, safety, and accessibility?

It's just not right... why does insurance charge people out-of-pocket for a medicine no one would take if they didn't have to?
We need to cap these costs for patients and #fixinsurance.
Please share and help, @MariahCarey , @jessicaalba, @Eminem, @Pink, @JeromeBettis36!

How can #BaseEditing improve #CART for blood cancers?
Drs. @CarlHJune, Saar Gill, & a team at @PennMedicine developed epitope-edited CD45 CAR T cells that were effective against several hematologic malignancies. 🩸

How do DNMT3A and TET2 mutant clones impact human haematopoiesis?
Excited to share our new pre-print where we identify the cell-intrinsic and extrinsic consequences of mutations in humans with clonal haematopoiesis:

Today in @biorxivpreprint, we describe the varied durability of epigenetic editing in the context of cardiovascular disease target genes (hPCSK9, hANGPTL3, and hAGT). https://t.co/jahfisaQoA
Delighted to share our new approach for high fidelity sc genotyping combined with scATAC - called GTAC! Do check it out! We love it. Great collaboration with the Hughes and Davies labs also in the WIMM. Credit to Sven, Asger, Angus and all co-authors.

My annual reminder that NIH and NSF still prevent international students from applying for doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships. I'm glad you're here and I know you've sacrificed a lot to be here. We're proud of you!
Happy to share the newest paper from our lab. Led by technician extraordinaire Aidan Tousley (soon to be an MD/PHD student!), this manuscript details our attempts to reimagine the structure of CARs to improve their specificity and efficacy. https://t.co/EKzcX4JaFP
