As we untangle the intricate political framework of Afghanistan, one name stands out with a chilling resonance: #SaeedKhosty. This high-ranking Taliban official, formerly a spokesperson for the interior ministry, is a stark symbol of the terrifying regime that the #Taliban have ruthlessly imposed on #Afghanistan since 2021.

His name is tragically intertwined with the harrowing narrative of @ElahaDelawarzai. #Delawarzai, a young woman whose radiant aspirations were brutally extinguished when she was kidnapped and forced into a sham marriage with Khosty. Her brave defiance and heartrending testimonies have revealed the true, terrifying face of the Taliban rule.

Her horrific ordeal at Khosty's hands, from violent abuse to forced imprisonment and torture, lays bare the grotesque inhumanity at the heart of the Taliban's regime. The dreadful paradox is evident - the very man who once fronted the Taliban's public image is implicated in these crimes of unimaginable cruelty.

Delawarzai's bold confrontation of her tormentor, her decision to expose Khosty's monstrous acts through her videos, was a profound act of courage. Yet, the price she paid for her defiance was steep. Recaptured and detained for 156 relentless days, she was subjected to horrifying physical torture and brutal interrogations.

However, Delawarzai's ordeal has not silenced her. Despite everything, she continues to stand tall, a beacon of resilience and defiance against an oppressive regime. She stands as an embodiment of the countless Afghan women who, even in the face of such overwhelming adversity, refuse to be silenced.

Elaha Delawarzai's heartbreaking tale shines a light on the dire state of human rights under the Taliban's rule, exemplified by Khosty. While the Taliban, spearheaded by men like Khosty, strive to project an image of 'reformation,' the reality within Afghanistan's borders tells a very different story.

The callous denial and slander that Khosty deployed in response to Delawarzai's allegations epitomize the disturbing mindset of these individuals. It is a chilling illustration of their readiness to deflect blame and smear the character of those brave enough to confront them.

Elaha Delawarzai's saga is more than just a tragic tale of an individual's suffering. It is a call to arms for the international community. Her story, along with countless others, urgently appeals to nations worldwide to offer their help, to take decisive action against such gross violations of human rights.

Plea for humanitarian asylum

We call upon countries worldwide to stand with women like Delawarzai. In particular, we appeal for her immediate safety and protection. We urge nations to extend humanitarian asylum to her and others like her, who are in desperate need of a haven from the ruthless Taliban regime.

Delawarzai's story is a stark reminder that we cannot, and must not, turn a blind eye to the horrific reality faced by many in Afghanistan. Countries globally need to apply pressure on the Taliban, insisting on respect for human rights and pushing for accountability for those who violate them, like Saeed Khosty.

We cannot let Delawarzai's narrative and others like it fall on deaf ears. It is high time the world acts collectively against such atrocious violations of human rights. The world must listen, act, and ensure that the courageous voices of women like Delawarzai are not silenced but amplified for global action. Afghan women, and indeed all women, deserve more than just sympathy. They deserve safety, respect, and, most importantly, justice.

Nakamura, who was given the nickname of “Kaka Murad” by the Afghanistan people, dedicated his life to implementing major aid projects in Afghanistan 🇦🇫

He was killed by the #Taliban at age 73 in a targeted attack on December 4, 2019, in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province.
Nakamura worked on development projects in the east of Afghanistan. One of his biggest projects was the 24 km canal that irrigates thousands of acres in Nangarhar.
