it’s interesting how when i tell people my wife is pregnant, reactions split by sex, but not how i’d expect

men are genuinely excited.
they offer help, advice, tell stories about their kids or how they can’t wait to have their own.
women pretend to be happy, put on a polite smile, then change the topic.

in hindsight it makes sense. for decades women have been taught that motherhood is the death of self. that a child ends their life instead of enriching it.
men, on the other hand, are rediscovering fatherhood as the only stable experience left in a backward world.

it’s one of the strangest inversions of modernity.
the sex evolved for creation has been brainwashed to fear it.
the sex accused of avoiding responsibility is now the one craving it.

somewhere along the way, fertility was rebranded from power to pathology.
we told women that their womb was a defect to be managed, medicated, or delayed, and called the resulting anxiety “freedom”

the real tragedy of the modern world.
we convinced women that motherhood is a prison, then sold them antidepressants as liberation
