I attended a half-day meeting at NASA HQ on Thursday that provided a detailed review of Orion’s heat shield status. Here is my report:

NASA is planning on rolling out the Artemis II rocket and spacecraft from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Pad 39B at @NASAKennedy no earlier than Jan. 17. The four-mile journey will take up to 12 hours.
Yesterday, I met with SpaceX and Blue Origin to understand the latest plans to accelerate NASA’s Artemis timeline.
The capabilities these two partners are pioneering will be essential to returning NASA astronauts to the lunar surface, establishing an enduring presence, and advancing American leadership on the Moon and beyond.
To meet President Trump’s National Space Policy objectives, we will challenge every requirement, clear every obstacle, delete every blocker and empower the team to deliver....and we will do it with time to spare 🇺🇸
Recognizing excellence matters.
Yesterday, I flew Ashley and Daniel from the @NASAKennedy workforce in my F-5s.
Ashley has served at NASA for almost 9 years, and currently works in Systems Engineering and Integration for Exploration Ground Systems, helping ensure the infrastructure behind exploration missions is ready when it’s needed. Daniel has served at NASA for 23 years, currently working as a Manager of the Ground and Mission Operations Office for Commercial Crew, supporting the day-to-day execution that keeps human spaceflight moving safely and reliably.
Ashley and Daniel represent the kind of talent and commitment that exists across NASA. They’re the first of what I hope will be hundreds of opportunities to recognize and reward the people who show up every day to do hard things and change the world.

🚨BREAKING: New images out of Louisville International Airport following the crash of UPS Flight 2976 CONFIRMS my previous statements and prediction that the cause of crash was due to engine separation from the aircraft resulting in hydraulic failure and leading edge slat retraction which resulted in left wing stall and crash.

do not spread misinformation about a plane crash that just happened. while ATC staffing is becoming an issue, the engine of the UPS cargo flight departing from louisville seemed to be on fire prior to takeoff. no indication that this was ATC related.
