I just struggle with hearing people say that.

I just had a 40 year old sister get diagnosed with "autism" by her psychiatrist and she's most definitely not.

People using autism to excuse life trauma and other psychological issues is just a cop out, everyone is different, and everyone deserves help. But misdiagnosis is way too common these days, and all of a sudden 50% of the population is getting diagnosed with autism after living extremely normal lives and displaying characteristics that are the polar opposite Autism.

It's very troubling to see normal ass people touring the world and thriving, claiming they "all of a sudden have autism at 50+ years old".

I have volunteered for my son's special education classes for over 3 years, and have raised an autistic child for 8.

Telling me that I don't "know autism" is a gaslight I won't even engage in.

I would agree we're all different psychologically, we've all lived different lives and were raised in different homes/families/environments.
