@TaxFoundation@alex_durante_ Compare the effect of uncapping the payroll tax to the tax cuts in the TCJA and OBBB. Only looking at tax increases is disingenuous.
@theficouple The 4% rule survives 30 years. The perpetual rate is lower is closer to 3%, but to reach a perpetual safe withdrawal including inflation adjustment with a 99.9% chance of success you need to go down to about 2.5%.
@SenRandPaul Healthcare is expensive because of administration, profit and the absurdly high cost of med school. Get rid of private, for profit health insurance. Single payer health insurance is the way to go. The annual increase is health insurance premiums is actually lower since the ACA.
@VisualCap Only about 64km of the Amtrak Acela line is really high speed rail. What other high speed rail is there in the US? The US should probably be placed just after Serbia in the chart.
@SteveHiltonx The key is to ensure that all ballots in drop boxes are picked up in controlled batches by the Election Day deadline and that no envelopes containing ballots without a valid postmark are accepted after Election Day.
@Budgetdog_ You shouldnβt use rich or wealthy to describe your net worth until you have at least $10 million in investments excluding your primary residence. Spending over $50k on a car is just silly.
@PeterMallouk I assume most people who participated in the survey donβt have at least the βminimum βwealthyβ level of wealth. If they did, I bet they would still consider themselves middle class, possibly upper-middle class.
@dividendology If thatβs a real inflation adjusted return, it would be a no brainer to take it. If that is a nominal return, it would be moderately interesting.
@SteveHiltonx In the general election you will get the Bianco votes and Becerra will get the Steyer and Porter votes. You will probably split the Mahan votes. What makes you think that the math is in your favor?
@SteveHiltonx You should exempt all retirement income (pre-tax IRA and 401K withdrawals, pension income) from state income tax and add a $500k homestead exemption on property taxes.
@PeterMallouk Per the chart, the annual rate of increase from 1999 to 2011 was 8.4%, whereas the annual rate of increase from 2011 to 2025 has been 4.2%. Why were premiums increasing at a much faster rate before Obamacare?
@KobeissiLetter With inflation at 3.5% to 4%, the 10 year should be at 5.5% to 6% and the 30 year at 6% to 6.5%. Mortgage rates should be 8% to 8.5%. Yields are remarkably low, especially considering the deteriorating fiscal situation. The Fed needs to raise the Fed funds rate.
@RonDeSantis Yes. And this is why the Fed should significantly raise interest rates (exactly the opposite of what Trump wants) and at the same time cut its balance sheet by at least 80%
