To my fellow Western followers:
China has more individual developers than SF has single men.
How far does that go? The guy in this clip sells skewers on the street. Wrong place, wrong person. He's vibe coding anyway.
If AI really flattens the skill and knowledge gap and raises the average, put more time, money, or network into Asia.
To my fellow western investors:
In China when we do any type of search these days the default is either Doubao or Xiaohongshu. It's no longer Baidu. I thought it's common knowledge but apparently it's not, Baidu hasn't been a verb for a while now.
As much as I respect Chinese-made AI models and hardware, I'm equally puzzled by how rough most of the software still is. Whether it's Wechat or Alipay or HarmonyOS. You'd think getting unique aesthetics, perfect fidelity, and great flows would be "easy", but clearly it is not.
I think people are underestimating what's changing inside @Telegram.
#Money is the update that caught my attention. But after spending a few days exploring it, I think the bigger story is what it could unlock across the ecosystem.
Three things stand out:
1. Money isn't launching into an empty ecosystem.
Telegram already has communities, channels, bots and Mini Apps. Adding a native wallet to that environment is very different from launching another standalone payments app.
2. AI makes software cheaper to build. It doesn't make an existing community easy to copy.
When features become easier to replicate, distribution matters more. Small teams can build more capable products, while Telegram already has places where those products can find users.
That's why I think AI could strengthen Telegram's position, not just make its own development faster.
3. Receiving money is only the beginning.
Say someone earns a reward through a Telegram community. Can they claim it, use it, or send it to someone else without another round of apps, accounts and wallet setup?
That's the experience I want to see builders make possible. Not just a transfer, but something useful to do afterward.
I'm not saying all of this works seamlessly today. I'm saying Telegram's recent updates deserve more attention than they're getting.

Anthropic's project-artifact plugin turns your repo into a live status page
Save this post if you want to try it on your own projects
What I like is that it's not a one-off page
It saves where the data comes from, so when you refresh it pulls the current state and tells you what changed
Here's how:
- Reads your repo, PRs, tracker, or design doc
- Publishes the page as a private claude artifact you can share with your team
- Covers overview, success criteria, workstreams, and next steps, and only adds risks, plan, or FAQ tabs when there's something to put there
- Numbers PRs as 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 so you can see which ones depend on which
- Gets PR, CI, and review status with the gh CLI
- Keeps a config per project, so "refresh the artifact" updates the same URL from any session
If a fetch fails it marks that data as stale instead of guessing, and it treats PR text as data, not instructions
Having one built from what's actually in the repo makes a lot more sense
Install:
/plugin install project-artifact@claude-plugins-official
Run:
/project-artifact

Howard. Used to lead DevRel Asia at @ton_blockchain / @Telegram.
Next 10 years, I'm in China, building the shift from the real world to the virtual one.

I also checked the obvious demand story: Telegram Money should boost username trading.
It didn't, at least not on @getgemsdotio. So underestimated is not the same as demand already being here.

About @Telegram / the-open-network:native:
I used to think Telegram Money would massively boost demand for Telegram Usernames.
I checked. Trading volume on @getgemsdotio barely moved.
A) Demand is just low
B) Nobody knows yet
Pick one.

It’s funny that the APAC team at @Cloudflare “accidentally” mass-emailed all their Greater China clients.
Anyone can share with me the client list maybe?
