The 2nd ICC Textile Conclave 2026 in Coimbatore on July 25, themed ‘Textiles 2030: Smart, Sustainable and Scalable’, emerged as a pivotal forum for shaping the future of Indian textiles.

Leaders, innovators, and researchers engaged in meaningful discussions on sustainability, technology adoption, and global competitiveness. The conclave emphasised the transition towards eco‑friendly fibres, circular economy practices, and reducing carbon footprints, while also spotlighting smart manufacturing through automation, AI, and digital tools to enhance productivity and quality.

A key highlight was the exploration of global competitiveness, where participants underscored how India’s textile sector can leverage innovation and scalability to strengthen its position in international markets. This discussion gained sharper relevance in light of recent Free Trade Agreements signed by India with countries such as the UK, Australia, and the UAE.

These FTAs open new avenues for textile exports by reducing tariff barriers, expanding market access, and creating opportunities for Indian manufacturers to showcase sustainable and high‑quality products on a global stage. The conclave highlighted that aligning with these trade frameworks will not only boost exports but also encourage investment in advanced textile technologies and sustainable practices.

Further, sessions on financial empowerment explored investment strategies and risk management for enterprises navigating dynamic global demands, while research and innovation were positioned as the backbone of future growth, driving breakthroughs in textile science and technology.

The conclave reaffirmed that textiles are more than fabric — they are the fabric of India’s industrial progress, weaving together tradition, technology, sustainability, and now, global trade opportunities to build a resilient and competitive future.
