From a small house in Vadnagar to the highest elected office of the Nation, your journey reflects determination, discipline and a lifelong commitment to public service. Over the years, your leadership has placed development, self-reliance, national security and the aspirations of our people at the heart of India's journey.

Under your leadership, Bharat has witnessed a transformation across infrastructure and connectivity. From the expansion of National Highways and expressways to the rapid modernisation of Indian Railways, electrification of nearly the entire broad-gauge network, modern railway stations and the nationwide expansion of Vande Bharat, India's mobility landscape is entering a new era.

From Digital India and UPI to Make in India, Startup India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, India has advanced across infrastructure, space, technology, manufacturing and renewable energy, strengthening our confidence in our own capabilities. Our defence preparedness has also grown stronger, from the surgical strikes and Balakot air strike to Operation Sindoor, reflecting Bharat’s firm resolve to protect its sovereignty and national interests while advancing indigenous defence capabilities and technology.

India's economic journey has moved significantly forward as well. From being among the world's largest economies, Bharat has risen to the 4th-largest economy in nominal GDP in the World Bank's latest 2024 data, while continuing its journey towards the goal of becoming one of the world's leading economies.

For Andhra Pradesh, your support has been of immense significance. From the renewed development of Amaravati and continued support for Polavaram, to the Visakhapatnam development corridor, Bhogapuram International Airport, railway and road connectivity, industrial investments, energy projects and strengthening of the State’s infrastructure ecosystem, your continued support has opened new avenues for Andhra Pradesh’s growth and development. The support extended by you to Andhra Pradesh is truly invaluable and beyond measure.

As we move towards #ViksitBharat 2047, the continued cooperation between the Union Government and Andhra Pradesh can open new avenues of opportunity for our people, youth, farmers, entrepreneurs and industries.

This year’s #SevaSankalpAbhiyan, being observed from September 17 to October 17, provides an opportunity for every citizen to turn the spirit of Seva into meaningful action through blood donation, tree plantation, cleanliness drives, health camps and support for those in need. Let us come together and contribute to society in every way we can, while offering an “Ashirwad Ka Diya” as a heartfelt expression of our respect, gratitude and good wishes, and inspire others to join this collective spirit of service to Bharat.

On India’s 80th Independence Day, I pay my heartfelt tributes to the countless freedom fighters whose courage, sacrifice and patriotism secured the freedom we cherish today. Their lives stand as an eternal reminder that the freedom we enjoy is not a gift to be taken lightly, but a sacred responsibility - to safeguard our national unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty.

In the decades since Independence, India has risen with quiet determination and remarkable ambition. From emerging as a global space power and achieving a historic landing near the Moon’s south polar region, to building world-class infrastructure, creating transformative digital public infrastructure through UPI, strengthening our defence capabilities, and establishing ourselves as a major economic force on the world stage - these achievements are living proof of the talent, resilience and indomitable spirit of the Indian people.

I bow in profound respect to the great statesmen and nation-builders who inherited a nation scarred by Partition, yet chose the higher path of unity, reconstruction and progress. Through their vision and fortitude, they laid the foundations of the Bharat we proudly inhabit today.

Today, I had a constructive meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri @CRPaatil Ji, and discussed key issues relating to drinking water, river conservation, and preparations for the upcoming Godavari Pushkarams.

We held detailed discussions on the upcoming Godavari Pushkarams and the urgent need to preserve the sanctity of the sacred Godavari River while managing the large influx of devotees expected during the event. I explained the challenges associated with river pollution, including untreated wastewater entering water bodies, inadequate sewage infrastructure in several riverbank habitations, and the environmental pressures that accompany large gatherings.

I sought the Ministry’s support for adopting proven river conservation and pollution-control measures in the lines of initiatives such as Namami Gange and other river rejuvenation programmes. We discussed the need for strengthening sewage treatment infrastructure, preventing pollutants from entering the river, improving solid and liquid waste management systems, and ensuring that the Godavari remains clean and pollution-free during and after the Pushkarams.

Shri C.R. Patil Ji appreciated Andhra Pradesh’s vision of conducting environmentally sustainable Godavari Pushkarams and emphasized the importance of adopting best practices from successful river conservation and pilgrimage management models across the country. He advised officials to undertake study visits to Surat, Varanasi, Prayagraj (Maha Kumbh), and other locations where large-scale riverfront management, pollution control, and pilgrim infrastructure have been implemented successfully.

Most encouragingly, the Hon’ble Minister assured that, upon submission of a comprehensive proposal by Andhra Pradesh, he would personally take up the matter and place the proposal before the Union Cabinet for consideration. This assurance reflects the Government of India’s commitment towards supporting Andhra Pradesh in protecting the sacred Godavari River and creating world-class environmental and public infrastructure for Godavari Pushkarams.

I had requested the Hon’ble Minister to favourably reconsider the Central share under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) for Andhra Pradesh, considering the State’s commitment to providing safe and sustainable drinking water to every household. Shri C.R. Patil Ji responded positively towards addressing the concerns raised by the State.

I sincerely thank Shri C.R. Patil Ji for his positive response, valuable guidance, and commitment to supporting Andhra Pradesh’s efforts in river conservation, water security, and sustainable development.

I also express my gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji, whose visionary initiatives such as Namami Gange have demonstrated how environmental protection, river rejuvenation, and public participation can come together to create lasting change across the nation.

After the NDA government took charge in Andhra Pradesh, we have prioritized rural development and are bringing transformative progress to our villages.

Under the Dept. of Rural Development, 1 lakh farm ponds have been constructed — a lifeline for our farmers during droughts, a boost to groundwater, and a source of employment for Upadi Sramikulu.

These farm ponds have collectively added approx 1 TMC to our water storage capacity — a testament to the strength of community participation and visionary governance.

My heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble Prime Minister Sri @narendramodi ji, Union Rural Development Minister Sri @ChouhanShivraj ji, and our Hon’ble CM Shri @ncbn garu for their continued support in driving transformative projects under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme #MGNREGS.
