@AlexGodofsky Vader and Tarkin’s conversations are also informal and familiar, Vader drops “I told you so” without concern, and when Tarkin refuses to scramble fighters Vader nonetheless can grab his own guys and launch on his own authority.
Yes I sold paintings. About $225,000 a year over four years. The whole of my business while my father was President. Congress investigated it.
If you’re outraged about that, where is all your outrage now?
Kushner's Affinity Partners holds roughly $5 to $6 billion. Close to 99% of it comes from foreign sovereign wealth funds. Saudi Arabia. The UAE. Qatar. Over $90M in fees annually.

Stop saying "Platner is going to be the nominee" and start saying "re-taking the Senate is vitally important so Graham Platner needs to drop out of the race."
President Trump has no public events on his schedule again today. That means it has now been one week since he has appeared publicly for anything besides a pre-taped interview. His last public event was his cabinet meeting last Wednesday, one day after his trip to Walter Reed.
People are calling Tom Holland arrogant and entitled for this, but he is absolutely right. The way Marvel has been making movies for the last several years is very bad.
Marvel has been shooting movies without scripts, shooting multiple versions of different drafts of screenplays by different writers and then stitching them together into Frankenstein movies that don’t make sense in response to focus group feedback. Executives have too much power and writers and directors have too little and therefore the movies lack purpose or vision.
This is how you get “The Marvels” or “Captain America: New World Order.” And it is perfectly justifiable for Holland, who is the face on the poster, to not want to be in a movie like that.
The process is bad, the movies are bad and the stars are more than justified in calling out the executives who are responsible. Nolan makes good movies and Marvel makes bad movies and Holland is completely reasonable and obviously correct to suggest that maybe Marvel should try making movies the way Christopher Nolan makes movies instead of the way Marvel has been making movies.
@johanlenox I don’t know that I’d say overwhelmingly, but it was bad enough Republicans would go on TV and complain polling was wrong. Between perhaps believing that and having internal polling that showed him winning, Mitt was way too confident he was gonna win.
@johanlenox@Alejandro27Ale Fetterman is an embarrassing adult oppositional disorder case who ultimately votes with the party any time his vote matters, despite bitching about them nonstop. That’s also the most optimistic outcome for Platner.
I think the reason everyone is responding negatively to this position is that the pod save guys were (rightly) FURIOUS with the Biden campaign for not acknowledging the weaknesses which led to a situation which gave Republicans an advantage. Fair enough. It was a tough position to take because Biden truly was a very effective president. But they were right.
This same anger, however, is nowhere to be found about a deeply troubled candidate with a long history of bigotry, sexism, dishonesty and problematic behavior which harms his campaign and thus the chance to beat the Republicans and be a true check on Trump’s power.
I won’t conjecture as to why they have this double standard except to say that it’s odd and maybe worth reevaluating at this point given how much his behavior and non-disclosures have materially harmed his campaign and, given the stakes, endangered American democracy itself.
This was the EXACT argument they made against Biden and it’s nowhere to be found here.
This guy is an incredibly normal Senate candidate in the Maine Democratic primary (with real experience and a real working class background) who seems to actually care about Maine and not just his ego. Consider supporting him.
