Motivated by caring for patients with mucosal melanoma (MM), we built the first animal model of this lethal disease and revealed that the cell of origin explains MMβs metastatic and immune-evasive nature.
Thrilled to share our first independent manuscript! We reveal that recurrent mutations in ZC3H18 stabilize endogenous retroviral RNA, which contributes directly to oncogenesis. Thanks to @BoutzLab, @burns_lab, @NCIChanock, @kbrowngenetics and the rest of our co-authors!
Welcome to Allison Williams!! Allison is a new post doc in the lab who LOVES all things RNA (especially structure), so we greeted her with a zebrafish comprised of RNA structuresπ
I am running the B.A.A. Half Marathon this year as part of Team @DanaFarber! My goal is to raise $500-$1000 for the Jimmy Fund, a charity that provides funds towards cancer patient care and research. Please donate if able, or share the link, thank you! https://t.co/QEI68thJcK
A huge welcome to our new Insco Lab members! Christina helping in the fish room, Gautier here for the summer, and Priyanka a new computational post doc!
A new cancer mechanism β inability to degrade defective RNAs β appears to cut across many different malignancies and could present a whole new set of cancer targets. Kudos @InscoLab & @leonard_zon. Learn more π #CDK13#ZC3H14 https://t.co/xy1mmJBT6D
