Hey @Marriott & @MarriottBonvoy, why does none of the staff at The Oaklander in Pittsburgh answer the phone or return calls? I've been trying to speak to someone for a week about a lost item and have left numerous voicemails for the GM, AGM, Housekeeping and the front desk.
@SecCardona Please fix the spousal consolidation loans. The law to separate has been signed into law. I’ve been paying on these predatory loans since 2002 and have been working in public service the whole time. Please help us. @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona What about those of us stuck in Spousal Consolidation Loans? Spouse & I were both Pell recipients but are disqualified from all relief due to this broken program. Still paying our own & now have a kid in college too @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona Are you really putting borrowers first? FFELP and Joint Spousal Consolidation Loans are being purposely ignored, even AFTER the JSCLA has been passed. It's time to move on this, Mr. Secretary. @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona The law to separate federal joint consolidation loans (that were privately held) to regain federal protections was signed 3 weeks ago but you don’t know how many are trapped in these forgotten loans & offered no pause or path to separation. Please help us! @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona I would love to believe that. As a Spousal Consolidation borrower, I’ve watched for YEARS as forgiveness has been extended to everyone but us. Then we work so hard to pass a BILL, a Congressional act! And still nothing. We are the borrowers who were put LAST. Please see us!
@Swissy207@SecCardona Writing I am affected by a JSCL is not scrambling to fix anything. It’s a bandaid, DOE has no idea who has these loans. No notification by DOE or servicers of the new law or change in ability for PSLF- just showed up on their website. How many are left behind? @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona Hows the process for separating spousal consolidation loans going now that it’s law? We’ve had to deal with these predatory lenders for 16 years without any help after DOE sold loans to these sharks. Now that it’s law not one peep from DOE acknowledging us, enough is enough.
@SecCardona It's November. The JCLSA passed Senate in June and house in September. Signed in October. When will the DoE be able to adhere to the law and give us a way to separate. We've been forgotten for far too long. @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona@POTUS While you fix a broken system, throw out a lifeline to broken PEOPLE, Victims of JCLs, paying w no recourse. It's discrimination. Separate don't procrastinate. @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona Please fix the spousal consolidation loans. The law to separate has been signed into law. I’ve been paying on this predatory loan since 2000. I’ve been a public interest attorney since I graduated from law school. It’s time for forgiveness.@SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona FFEL Joint Spousal Consolidated Loans are broken! S1098 gave you the authority to fix it. Not only that, it said fix it in the way you see best. You got the tools, you got the approval, you got the creative freedom - can't ask for an easier way to fix something broken.
@SecCardona Fix the most broken & ignored program that has led to ongoing economic abuse & is still happening at this very moment bc we wait on you to execute Public Law 117-200.
Please prioritize abuse victims who do not have a payment pause. We are literally begging you.
@SecCardona Joint Consolidation Loan holders deserve reimbursement for all the years they've qualified for PSLF & COVID pause and DoE did nothing to help. We need our loans separated! S1098 gave you the power to help us. @SC_DoUsPart
