All buildings must comply with the TNCDBR, 2019. Where violations exist, authorities must ensure either rectification or demolition, as applicable.
The law must be applied uniformly, without favour or exception.
@polimernews@sameerangs A flood-resilient, water-secure city is built by restoring & reconnecting its lakes, ponds & other waterbodies allowing water to flow through the natural network, with only the excess reaching the sea.
Make waterbody restoration a citywide priority before the next flood, drought.
@CHN_Metro_Water@rhevanth95 Please share a copy of the M-Book and tender document. These records are necessary to verify the authorization and legality of the work and ensure transparency.
@CHN_Metro_Water@CMOTamilnadu@TVKVijayHQ@actorvijay@GSBediIAS@TNDIPRNEWS@tnmaws Please ensure every online application is directly linked to the CMDA/GCC PP module to prevent misuse or manipulation through manually entered or random PP IDs. The system should validate the Planning Permission ID against the source database in realtime.
@CMDA_Official Move from complaint-based to GIS-based detection of unauthorised/deviated construction. Compare geo-tagged approvals with ground reality, auto-generate statutory notices for verified deviations, & hard-block all Govt/waterbody lands in SWP. @CMOTamilnadu@GSBediIAS@sameerangs
@CMC_Offcl Over a year after the Hon’ble Supreme Court upheld demolition of an unauthorized building in Zone 11, Zone 11 officials say the case is “still ongoing.”
Who is accountable : Zone 11 or Greater Chennai Corporation @chennaicorp@sameerangs for this continued delay?
@omjasvinMD The Government must fix responsibility, recover any established loss, initiate disciplinary action against erring officials & where warranted, pursue criminal action. #corruption#CAG#audit#maduravoyal #426 @CMDA_Official
@RaavananDeepak@CMOTamilnadu In Zone11, GCC Commissioner recorded that no structural work on grazing land can begin without @Collr_Chn NOC. Yet @CMDA_Official proceeded with the ₹12.93-crore project after obtaining only a GCC Council NOC. Under what law can a Council NOC replace the mandatory Collector NOC?
@CHN_Metro_Water@issues_civic@rhevanth95@Tnpcbofficial You insisted on NOC, CC & Revenue clearance for my connection, yet illegal lines appear to remain connected. What explains this apparent inconsistency? Is there political influence?
@SocioKumar@TOIChennai@CMOTamilnadu@sameerangs@rdc_south@BussyAnand@MawsTamilNadu As per my research, the A-Register identifies the land as “Road.” No lawful reclassification is possible as it is objectionable land. The building violates HUD GO 167. Hence, the construction is illegal & amounts to misuse of public funds. These are no longer mere allegations.
@sunnewstamil@TNeGA_Official Waterbody GIS Viewer is a commendable initiative, enabling the public to identify WB & encroachments with greater transparency. I have personally identified several encroachments around my residence using the platform & promptly taken them up with officials.
@rhevanth95@JCDPrabhakar How was this MLA allowed to seek pattas for waterbody encroachments in Bharathidasan Nagar and Lakshmi Nagar on the Assembly floor, despite clear directions issued by the Hon’ble Courts and the National Green Tribunal ?
@CHN_Metro_Water@Arappor While I appreciate your reply:
1. Please indicate the timeline for identifying and removing the unauthorized work.
2. Kindly ensure field staff verify RWH compliance before providing connections to patta land properties.
@sgally2000 I recently spotted 2–3 beautiful prinias in my garden. I’m planning to add a bird bath and expand habitat features to support more birds, pollinators, and urban biodiversity. #urbangarden#garden
