🎉 Huge congrats to our postdoc Leonardo for winning the Best PhD Thesis Award "Carlo Lamberti" at the SILS (italian synchrotron society) conference in Rende for his stellar PhD thesis!
🌟Compressive c-axis pressure amplifies stripe order within the superconducting state of cuprate superconductor, while having no impact on the normal state🌟
Great work of our PhD student, Julia, published in @CommsPhys@NaturePortfolio👇

Our great success @NatureComms@NaturePortfolio ‼️
Using an effective Heisenberg Hamiltonian, we show that the magnon dispersion in AF cuprates is described well when including significant quantum corrections stemming from magnon-magnon interaction ⬇️

Agree - great cover picture of Daniel Mazzone and @NBC_neutron and interesting overview article from Daniel on uniaxial pressure. Thanks Gediminas for shooting this expressive photo from Thales.
I was happy to find the latest edition of the SPS Communications in the post this morning. Especially as the cover has a picture of @NBC_neutron and Daniel Mazzone that I took at @ILLGrenoble. Daniel has written a nice overview of recent cuprate studies with uniaxial pressure.
Congratulations Julia, Ron and Chun for completing this work on the cuprate-pseudogap-state that remains a major enigma. It took us 7 years to follow-up on our previous study https://t.co/a1rXAMgWpD. Even Ron left for Swissgrid, the next contribution should come soon!
Father of "entropy", Rudolf Clausius, turns 200 this year. The Swiss Physical Society #SPS celebrates this with a public symposium at the #EPFL on Oct. 8th. This event brings together young talents from across Switzerland.
@davblei 4-8 of September 2023, we have the annual Swiss and Austrian physical society meeting in Basel. Would it make sense to arrange a surface science session on 8.9.2023 in Basel?!
@PHChess The paper seems to conclude that a 2860 player has a 4.5% chance to be (momentarily) overrated by 40 Elo points. Isn't the goal to be the first carbon-based chess player reaching consistent 2900 playing skills rather than hoping for favorable statistical fluctuations?
A 30 year old theoretical prediction for quasi-2D d-wave superconductors with low-energy van Hove singularities is confirmed. In high magnetic fields a square-to-square vortex lattice transition is observed by ultra-sound measurements. Congratulations to TEAM-LeBoeuf.

#IcefjordCentre (by Dorte Mandrup-Paulsen) and #UNESCO trail in #Ilulissat. Impeccable interface between nature and architecture. In the background, 20 billion tonnes of icebergs are launched into the ocean every year.
Congratulation to the organisers of “From Solid State to BioPhysics X” conference for bringing together condensed matter, biophysics and medical scientists in Cavtat - Croatia. Was delighted to learn about recent breakthroughs on #Parkinsonsdisease.
